(See end for main question)
As I was having the amazing experience of curtain box waterfowl hunting, I was simultaneously watching the rain and ocean add an orange film to my barrel right before my eyes.
After the hunt, and before leaving the dock, I field stripped it and wiped down all surfaces dry. I then applied a layer of hoope gun oil and laid it in the back seat to keep it out of the humidity. When I got home I again tried cleaning it with the oil, a tooth brush, and a rag. I then left it with a coat of oil overnight .
For context I am extremely diligent about cleaning my gun after each hunt (brand new as of October). After each hunt I wipe down the firearm and then after it dries, I apply a layer of hoope gun oil with an rag.
**The issue is*** there are still streaks of rust that I can't get off and I have no idea what else to do?? I want to get the rust off and make sure I protect it properly. And suggestions???? (edited picture attached for visual) IMG_2111.pdf
Thanks in advance!
