It’s a titanium choke from Briley. It’s a fraction of an ounce lighter than the oem and cannot rust. The oem chokes are prone to rusting at the threads if not cared for well even in Arizona. It’s the only area I’ve experienced corrosion on the Benelli M4.

I ordered that same choke, yours looks like IC with the orange tip?

My only concern would be with the orange tip is if someone thought it to be an airsoft gun. Silly theory i know, but where i live people are not that smart.  But i ordered IC as well. I wonder if i can get it re colored with cerakote?

An M1 Garand weighs 9.5 lbs and was humped across Europe and the Pacific theaters by teenagers. For me, it's about choices, my configuration would be different if I was night hunting predators on the property, taking an 8 hour shotgun class, or kept bedside at night. Weight isn't always my only consideration.

I love the M1 Garand, but my shoulder does not.  A good trick i learned is a bar of soap between the butt stock and your shoulder.

I used CC exclusively in the past. Ive known Kip for nearly a decade and his products are beyond top notch.

Very very good to hear! Thank you!

I only use factory SBS M4s. I just leave the oem in place.

Gotcha!  Well thank you for the info nonetheless. Ill still keep my order in for the carrier comp titanium one.

From memory in the past, when I tighten the mag cap on a Ti mag tube, its kindof like a jar lid. You can get it reeeeeaalllly tight. Squeeze in another click or two. On the steel tubes, it just dead stops. Ive also noticed on Ti tube guns with an optic, at 25m, I can observe slugs walking vertically as the barrel heats. Not on steel tube guns. Using just iron sights, this is hidden, as the FSP moves, too. Need to test this with receiver only mounted sighting system. YMMV, and my sample size is not large enough to leave the realm of anecdotal

So who do you recommend for tubes then?

Never experienced any noticeable mag tube flex when shooting my M4s, I own 3 and all have CC Titanium mag tubes..but there’s certainly insignificant-residual flex during recoil whether titanium or steel tubes.  Not exactly sure how residual mag tube flex could/would be affecting accuracy when shooting..unless during recoil there is significant enough mag tube flex that results in impacting or affecting the barrel.

Sounds like a mooch point between the two, then.  Thank you.

Steel will flex less, but Ti is far lighter. You get to decide which is right for your needs.

So who makes the best steel tube then?

    Weight vs. Performance.

Could I run an Arisaka M300 body and hyperthrow M300 head and shave 2oz off the front? I sure could. I'd lose my IR capability, though. Could I run an M300V instead of an M600V? Yup. Then I'd get more shadow on the barrel and FS, which is annoying especially under NODS.

Could I run a Ti or CF mag tube? Yup. It would shave some ounces, but it would flex more under firing and accuracy and durability would technically be affected.

Could I run a polymer trigger guard and save an oz over the milspec ones I prefer? Yes, but I prefer aluminum as that is what Aberdeen vetted the gun with. That said, I cannot tell you the polymer is worse and support my statement.

Could I run a RMR or Holosun and not an Aimpoint Micro? I could, but then my light transmission under NODS would suffer.

I've looked at all the things, and thus far, my weapon is as light as can be without making compromises I do not wish to make.

In regards to your comment on titanium and cf tubes.  I was under the impression carrier comp titanium tubes are the go to? Or is steel better durability wise?

I like a heavier gun as well; but I'm not carrying it around it all day long. Easier to swing and point on a lighter gun to be honest.

I mean. I hike with my benelli m4 and the weight never bothered me.

I use Peltor Tac6s on my helmet. Otherwise just regular 3M foam orange. Roll them between finger and thumb. Then reach behind your head, ledt arm right ear, pick up the top of the ear and pull like youre trying to drag the ear over and around your head to your other ear. Insert plug. Let it expand. Technique matters!

Alright thank you.  The foam ear plugs are always just too large for my ears no matter how much i squish them roll them etc they just don't go in my ear.  I end up actually hurting my ears trying to use foam ear plugs... Unless they make smaller ones?

Raise your optic and adopt a more upright head position. While not the answer you want, it is the inky ergonomically sound option, given your dislike of in-ear options.

Not a terrible option.  Do you know of any really slim electronic ear pro? Or any foam ear plugs you can recommend that arent irritating that i can try?

  12. Been using the walkers razor slim ear pro, but getting a good cheek weld pushes the ear pro off my ear then follows with a ringing.  Anyone have any good recommendations for other ear pro where i can maintain a good cheek weld?  I hate the foam ear plugs, they always hurt my ears, and build up an annoying pressure in my ears that leads to migraines really quickly.

Sorry man, but I think that your choice of putting that ridiculous hunk of uselessness on a beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing shotgun, is terminally flawed.

It looks like S%$T. And it adds what? A bunch of slots that can never be utilized for anything usefull.

It's an epic waste of money.

You say its a waste of money.  I say its a great choice because now he can add anything from foregrips to light mounts to qd sling mounts and with that 13" foregrip, the light now can be properly mounted towards the front of the barrel.  Function > appearance.  I didnt know this was a fashion forum, i think you are in the wrong place if you are looking for fashion with your firearms?

It just about the same to field strip as the original handguard. Just remove the barrel and slide the handguard off. I did have to remove one of the washers inside the barrel guide ring (pictured) in order to get the barrel to go flush with the receiver though.

That actually looks beautiful. And i like the idea of the ease to field strip it still.  How does the handguard feel to the hand compared to oem handguard?

  15. Havent set mine up but thinking about the iwc mount with the pic rail so i can mount the light on the right and use a pressure pad on the left so the light never gets blocked by cover or walls etc and can continuously blind my target. Will do pics when its set up in the future.
