  1. First prototype came in. Don’t worry about the green, that’s just for prototyping. It will be black. Will need to make some fitting adjustments since I had to fiddle with it to make things fit and wasn’t a nice experience.  In the process of doing this, I came up with a better handguard that will be more ergonomic and all polymer. Doing the mlok rail part might not be a good idea due to potential sales vs cost. Still need to run some numbers. Enjoy the pics.

Any chance of making one with a functional pump action for the M3? That would be awesome.

Right now, the plan is to see if there is a market for this. If it goes well, then I plan on making one for the beretta 1301, Mossberg 500, and Remington 870. Not sure about the M3 yet, numbers have to make sense.

  3. Design is almost done. Started talking to some machine shops on costs for something like this. First prototype won’t be cheap but doable, not a problem. The question will be, do people want this. I certainly do, so I’ll definitely have one on my benelli.

  4. Is that sight piece detachable from the barrel so it can be added to the new m3 barrel, I hear they are compatible. Not sure if refinishing the barrel is worth it, how long do those things last?

Oh, that's not mlok on the spas-12. Its venting slots in the heatshield. It was a convertible shogun (pump and semi) and anything mounted in those sections would have interfered with the pump action.

Yup, I’m aware. What I’m saying is if we made our own it should be mlok. I phrased it wrong now that I re-read it.

  6. I know some of you are pretty good using CAD. I’m thinking of getting a custom forend similar to that of the SPAS-12 like in the image, metal mlok and the polymer minus that bump in the front. I’m only looking for the designs, I can take care of manufacturing on my end. Is anyone willing to work on this? I can pay. I also have some skeleton type stock sketches but first this.  Any tips welcome. Again, just need someone good with mechanical design.

Muzzle end is floating yes, with SBS would get the slots after the bracket but the front 3 on the full length would be gone.  Would look pretty good I think.

Can you maybe add a piece that closes that floating gap? As in 90 degrees piece down to touch the barrel so if the guard is pressed down it does move, I feel like that could strengthen and stabilize it. My only concern is that without it it will eventually wiggle in the front.

  8. Still working on it, wondering if I should get the Cloud Defensive REIN 2.0 Micro, worried about weight though. Already got the IWC mount and a Vickers 221 sling

If I get a red dot(likely not) I will have it canted  with an offset mount, still like ghost rings for anything over 40 yards.

Sounds good in theory, but breeching rounds along with technique often keep the weapon from cycling. You can observe multiple failures to cycle in this video of USMC door breaching fam fire/training course:

Noone I know carried a Benelli M4 to breach doors. I do know one guy who did kill someone with a Benelli M4 in Afghanistan, though. He said it worked very well for that. Most people I know who had experience with them were quite pleased with them. They just weren't breaching doors with them.

*Look at those beautiful blue receivers at 1:46, too! Benelli has always had ano dye variance.

You can watch all the videos you want, I’m just answering from personal experience where you didn’t know if you’d live another day. Not based on YouTube. Of course anything is possible, just wasn’t my experience. And yes, breaching doors wasn’t the primary purpose, I’m just saying it was used for that as well. The gun was used a lot on dogs too.

Comparing Benelli to Benelli....  you're saying don't compare the M4 that does "A", to say an M1 or M2 that does "A, B & C".   My thinking IS comparing apples to apples, is the M4 really better at A than the other two?   Thus far, personally have no real reason to think that it is.

(you can save the typing on what the government buys with our tax money, what they buy and why have little relevance to you and I. What the Marines buy has little bearing on my life.)

Yup, at the end of the day, any decent gun will do any of the other’s job just fine, especially when it comes to civilian use. I think most people buy based on Looks>Reliability>Ergonomics
