I purchased my R1 in 2013, it might have been brought to camp and shot maybe 62 days total, I started to notice the gummy sticky feeling in 2017 or 2018, so maybe 5-6 years, it hasn't been out of the gun cabinet since 2019, our deer season is only 2 weeks long in Ontario, so I'm being generous with 62 days of use. I usually bring a semi and bolt to camp, so if the R1 got out 3-5 days per season that was it, and now I have been pleading my case to Benelli that the comfortech stock is deteriorated in a very short time and I'm getting so much push back that its really disheartening that they are not willing to stand behind there product....if I had used the gun for 50 days a year for 5 years, I would have nothing to say because I would have gotten use of the R1 and I would be happy to push their brand, at this point though I am left with a bad taste in my mouth and angry that I made such a bad purchase, everyone looks for longevity in a higher end purchase, this one has disappointed deeply. I must have got one from a bad batch, because I hope their quality control has higher standards than this! I wish I could add pictures to that everyone could see.
