Thanks! So the synthetic stock models have a matte black finish while the wood stock models are blued?

I'm considering getting an R1, but I'd need to use it to hunt in muddy, wet, rainforesty-type conditions for a couple days at a time. How does the R1 do in mud and rain? How is the finish? Are there any rust issues with the R1 or other things that should cause me to reconsider? I've been using a stainless/composite bolt action and a stainless/composite Mini30. I'm hoping that the R1 could fill the niche of both of those rifles... But if I'm going to destroy it the first time it gets soaked in a downpour, then I'll hold off.
