I'm late to the party, but the easiest method for converting would be to get a red factory plug and a factory barrel nut from somewhere like MidWest Gunworks. The performance shop mag tubes are extensions that screw onto the end of the factory magazine tube. Getting another barrel will cost you a chunk more, and you might want to consider picking up another M2 instead. A used M2 field with a 26-28" barrel will run you around $800-1000, and a new 28" barrel will run $500-600 by itself.
