Is it safe to shoot slugs through Nova?

I want to know if I can shoot slugs (not sabots) through a Nova. I've heard they are back bored, and this is unsafe to do. I know to use a wide open choke such IC, but I don't want to damage my barrel.

Shooting slugs designed for a smoothbore will do no harm to the gun.

Your shoulder may not be so lucky.

i am using a nova and with a rifled choke tube it shoots whinchester super x slugs like a rifle. I bought a scope mount and a holographic sight for it today going to get it zeroed in tomorrow. Hope this helps
