Question for Nova owners

I just bought my SO a 20 ga Nova and when I brought it home I loaded it up and then attempted to cycle the rounds out. The shells however are not ejecting when the pump is pulled all the way to the rear, so I had to manually remove the shell. Is this because the shell is not fired and thus not under pressure to eject, or is this a problem?

To clarify the Nova is brand new and the shells are Estate game loads.

No, the gun should eject shells shot or not. If it's new like you said, take it back and see if to can get one that works.

I actually just saw that the extractor was not installed, and it and the roll pin were laying in the box. So how do I install it?
