Super Sport Tube Nut Question

Hey everyone,

 

When I bought my supersport I asked them to take the pin out of the tube as I am only using it for clays not for hunting so I wanted the extra room for the shells. Well they did but they also removed the cap/nut in the process to take it out (why I don't know...since it just falls out) well the line thats engraved there is slightly off from being even and tightening it any more seems like I'd risk scratching it. Is it OK that its off slightly? We are talking about a millimeter or so off the line. Also, there was a small thin metal sliver that was in there as well that they said didn't need to be there, any ideas?

I wouldn't think the line is a problem. I have it on mine and it looks like it's just there to keep you from overtightening it. No ideas about the metal sliver.
