i_wish Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Installed my carriercomp rail and can finally post pics. I added the white paint to the markings because I have bad eyes. Quote
Hookster Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Nicely done I_Wish! It looks great........ Quote
i_wish Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Thanks! It was a PITA to do. I actually had to do it a couple of times before I was satisfied. It turned out "good enough" for govt work. I also did it to the alignment lines/notches on the front sight. They turned out alright too. Edited October 19, 2010 by i_wish clarification Quote
Hookster Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Do you use the lacquer sticks or paint? I've been thinking about doing the rear sights on my M1As to make them easier to read. Hookster Edited October 19, 2010 by Hookster Quote
i_wish Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 I use Testors paint. #1145 white. I paint it on so it fills the depression, let it sit and dry for a couple min and then wipe it off. I use acetone to wipe off the excess. I leared this from a gunsmith. Quote
Hookster Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks IW... maybe I'll try some practice runs on some old parts that have some stamped lettering and perfect my technique before I tackle the M1A Later, Hookster Quote
