  1. Some are proof marks and the farthest one to your right is the date of manufacture. C'mon guys google is your friend. https://store.bluebookinc.com/Info/PDF/POWDER/MBPProofmarks.pdf http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=73492
  2. Brownells has the older GSR's but here are the sights that are used now on the Benelli http://www.precisionsights.com/Product/BAR_product_page.html As far as a gunsmith goes try this guy http://www.kingarmory.com/ HTH
  3. I've used this as a guide. YMMV. http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?80819-Shortening-the-Benelli-Tactical-Stock-%96-a-la-Ned-Christiansen Goggle is your friend
  4. I have one installed on my M1S90 and M4. Here are some links http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23618&highlight=oversized+safety http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21737 Remember "search" is your friend;)

    M4 Research for R&D

On my 18.5" barrel, using my "el cheapo" set of calipers, I get: Dim #1=.630 Dim #2=1.120 HTH
  6. I don't think they didn't pay the bill. Most likely they just let the domain name expire (they forgot when it expired when they registerd it) . Hopefully it wasn't grabbed up by someone else after it expired.
  7. No problem. Just a thought, try calling HK customer service they may be able to help with import info? It's worth a try.
  8. There should be some proof marks near the loading chamber on the receiver. This may help http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=73492

    Urbino Stock

I called Mesa Tactical and placed a pre-order on Friday for the plain jane version (90030). I was told what the published price was but it would be less than that. How much less they did not commit to but I was told it would ship out the fist week of November (if all goes well). HTH
  10. You are correct. What works with one trial gun might not work with what everybody else has. I guess absolute co-witness is ideal but I would settle with a lower 1/3 or upper 1/3 if I had to or heck just being able to see the sights through the glass if the red dot failed. I'd be using an aimpoint comp m2 but hope to use it with my other red dots. Just being able to see the BUIS through the optic would be a plus. IDK more people will hopfully weigh in. Stranger Danger also has a good suggestion.
  11. Would it be possible to create a shim that would raise the hieght of the Benelli M4 rear GRS to it's rail height? Could it match the countour of the receiver and original demensions of the current LPA sight? I would like to get "some" type of co-witness on my red dot sights. I have replaced the original rail with one of yours and I love it. I guess that an "extended" type rail that would screw into the existing GRS holes and then using a LPA picatinny rear sight would work but I would like to retain the existing GRS on the shotgun. What are your thoughts? What is the m4 community thoughts? I'll be the guinea pig.
  12. My buddy has an HK marked Benelli M1S90 and his has the older style GRS. Mine isn't marked HK but has the LPA GRS on them. Are you trying to replace the complete GRS assembly? I don't know if there is a retro fit but there was a thread on another forum showing that the mounting holes don't line up. http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?126041-HK-M1-Benelli-M1-Question You would have to tap newer holes to switch from the older GRS to the LPA GRS. I have read many horror stories of how the older GRS suck. They would fall off and also in your case, the screws shear off. Here is the websight for the LPA USA distributor: http://www.precisionsights.com/Product/BAR_product_page.html you can also get them from brownells but I believe they are out of stock. You can also find the replacement parts at Brownell's too. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
  13. Well I don't know if this will work while "on the move" but thisis what I do. Skip to the 2:36min mark. I believe it is an M4. I've practiced this method and it works pretty well standing still. You do lose the good round doing the change over but it works for me.
  14. Wait for the Urbino stock from Mesa Tactical to come out or you can cut off a few inches off the butt end of the stock. Many people have done this for the M1S90 and M2.
  15. H. Good luck. If you need any tips LMK. Maybe I can put a quick video together.
  16. Not quite sure of what you are trying to put on but here are some threads on how to remove the stock: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12550 http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15307 I believe what you call the stock retainin plate is the piece of metal that the sling loops through? If that is what you mean, then you don't need to take that off. I think it has locktite on it or some other thread locker (been there, done that). Just take the barrel off, remove the bolt and carrier, pop the pin that holds the trigger housing and then twist the stock off. HTH
  17. I use Testors paint. #1145 white. I paint it on so it fills the depression, let it sit and dry for a couple min and then wipe it off. I use acetone to wipe off the excess. I leared this from a gunsmith.
  18. The mag follower that came out of mine is the one in the pic. The body is steel and the red part is plastic. The body doesn't feel flimsy at all. I opted for the aluminum USA made one from Brownells.
  19. Thanks! It was a PITA to do. I actually had to do it a couple of times before I was satisfied. It turned out "good enough" for govt work. I also did it to the alignment lines/notches on the front sight. They turned out alright too.
  20. Installed my carriercomp rail and can finally post pics. I added the white paint to the markings because I have bad eyes.
  21. I'm no expert but mine looks like steel with a plastic red center.
  22. I too wondered about this. I got the aluminum one just because I did not want to take a chance on excessive wear. I don't have any proof that it would cause excessive wear but I figured aluminum is softer that steel and replacing the follower if/when it wears out is cheaper than replacing the mag tube. JMHO.
  23. After doing my research and based on feedback from this and other fourms, I chose the Ti tube from Carriercomp. There are others but I was looking for lightweight and strong enough not to be disabled by a dent or wrinkle in the tube. "Best" is subjective. Find out what you want/need. Then spec all the other tubes that are out there for the M4 and you decide. This is just my opinion. YMMV As for the sling, I originally went with this for my M1S90: spectergear.com/benelli_cqb_sling.htm I liked it so I got another for my M4.
