ewhitefo
I have had a SBE since about 2000, used it for waterfowl, pheasant. The last couple years I have had an issue and this past trip to the range it reared its ugly head.. I am getting shells hungup on there way into the chamber catching on the side and bending the crimp, always the right side of the shell hangin up on the way in. Its occasional but frustrating, I had two different types of loads do it from two different manufacturers, one light 1 1/8 and one heavier 1 1/2 heavy upland load. This gun has shot alot of rounds, from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 goose loads.. I am not certain but I suspect maybe my carrier is getting sloppy allowing a little extra wiggle on the way in but not certain.. Now before the lube and clean cops jump on me its been apart every fall and spring removed and cleaned as well and the rest of the gun, light lube in recoil tube and so on.. Pretty much have 9-10 years of good operation up till this year. I did put in a new recoil spring in 3 years ago, a wolf 25% stronger spring and had a year of flawless operation, any ideas?
