Benelli 828U ejectors failing

Anyone know if Benelli's newly designed ejector system for the 828U can be put into an older 828U?

Just for additonal discussion. I have a damaged extractor rod on the bottom chamber. Odd thing is, once the gun is broke open and closed again, the shell ejects on the next (second) time it's opened.

Where did you hear that Benelli had changed the design of the ejectors? I am unable to find out any information about that.
