Left Handed Safety

Does anyone know if the M4 safety can be reversed for left handed use? If so, how is it done?

Remove the trigger group.

Tap out the retaining pin (watch the spring!)

Remove the spring and detent.

Slide the crossbolt out and reverse it.

Drop the detent back in.

Drop the spring back in.

Compress the spring slightly and slide the pin back in.

 

Test.

 

If you have trouble with these instructions, take it to a gunsmith.

 

If you ever sell or trade the gun, switch the safety back.
