Use of steel shot in M4?

My manual doesn't go into much detail about what I can and cannot use in my M4. Is steel going to harm my barrel, or am I free to fire at will?

 

The one choke that came with the gun is stamped as being OK for steel, but that doesn't really speak for the barrel.

The Benelli M4 barrel is chrome lined. Steel shot will not hurt it in the least.
