gtmtnbiker98
Okay, I'm trying to break down my new Super Nova Tactical to clean it prior to shooting it for the first time; however, I cannot find where you must loosen the pistol grip prior to removing the trigger assembly. Can somebody shed some light on this step? The user manual only posts a warning that states that this step is required. Any help would be appreciated. bowhntr1980
You must remove the butt pad from the stock. Then use an extended socket to loosen the nut inside the stock to back the stock off of the receiver so that the trigger housing will come out. Basically you have to take the stock off to get to the trigger housing. I'm sorry but I can not recall what size socket to use. Hope this helps. gtmtnbiker98
So how hard is it to remove the butt pad without causing damage to the butt pad? I find this to be a disadvantage to the pistol grip model and would I have known this about simple maintenance, I would have looked elsewhere. This is the first weapon that I've ever owned that requires complete disassembly for simple maintenance.
bowhntr1980
The rubber butt pad should come off fairly easy by pushing or pulling it down from either the top or the bottom rather than side to side. Then it should just pull straight out. Then you use the socket to loosen the nut inside the stock. You do not have to completely remove it just back it off the receiver enough for the trigger assembly to clear.
