M4 serial number question

Hey all! Still learning about Benelli in general so please be kind! :) My question is: On the M4 in particular, does the barrell have/or supposed to have, a serial number etched/stamped on it that matches the receiver's #? Or is the receiver the only part that carries the primary serial#? Thank you in advance for your replys! Best!
