spads
I'm a newbie to the shotgun world, and recently got a benelli nova pump. How do I know what kind of ammo to use(shot or slug) with it? I understand the differences between the rifled barrel and smoothbore but I'm not sure how to determine which one i have. Thanks
Novaking
You have a smoothbore barrel. All 12 gauge shell you can use in the nova. Some shell will not pattern or group as good as others. You will have to hit the patterning board and range to see which shells fit you nova the best. Congrats on your purchase. You've bought a great firearm. slugmeister
look down the barrel, its very simple. Anything will come out the barrel its just that sabot slugs need spin to be stable and shot needs to be patterned. So if your a throw it in pull the trigger kind of guy, put in the cylinder choke and any type of ammo will fly out.
