  1. One thing that you might want to try kevin, is putting the mercury rreducer in the mag tube instead of the stock. I did this to my gun(not the same as yours) and it actually worked alot better. you reduce recoil but also reduce about 80% of muzzle jump!! I just took out my factory plug and replaced it with the reducer. The only other thing is that I had a shorted spring to put in, you really dont need one because all the shells should go in OK. I used a 4.5 inch reducer and can still put 3 3 inch shells in with some room left over. Try this and see what you think! Good luck!!
  2. about ported chokes...I decided to have my barrel ported instead..for the 75 bucks that i spent on having the barrel done was smarter to me then buying a couple of 50-100 dollar ported chokes..this way I have the ports no matter what choke that I use! jrs
  3. I added a 4.5 inch reducer but put it inside of the mag tube to hold the muzzle down, it takes the place of the plug...my recoil was coming from face slap.. this helped tremendously!!!!! I also had my barrel ported by "top line porting" in Ok...they only charge 75 bucks for five holes...far as much as I shoot my gun, this was definitely worth the small investment!!! I dont even flinch when I shoot now!! Good luck!!! jrs
  4. To balance out my gun and defeat recoil, i installed a mercury tube but put it in the mag tube instead of the stock, this keeps the weight of the gun more forward and keeps the muzzle down when shooting... it is by far the best performance that I have found!!! I put the 4.5 inch reducer in the mag tube but just so happened to have a shorter spring laying around ( about 13 inches) , take out the plug and let the reducer act as the plug... I can still hold two 3.5 inch shells in the mag tube. Good luck!! jrs
  5. Sorry , Don't have a digital camera!! I can tell you that the reciever turned out being a "light grey" kinda. Like raw alluminum. It looks kinda like bare metal with no rust or paint. ???? Hard to discribe!!Oh!! It is the same as the factory wheels on a chevy....the shineier part. not the inside part. sorry, maybe I will just try to take a picture and scan it or something!! I understand from talking to people that it is possible to take it a step further and polish it to give it a real shiney smooth look but thats almost too flashy....kinda like getting a geo metro and putting chrome wheels on it!! I dont want to push it!!
  6. Just simply do a yahoo search for choke tubes....There are many to choose from!! I only shoot extended tubes and I just got a new one from 1st shooters supply for mid range waterfowl and it was only 27$$$!!!!! with shipping!! good luck!!
  7. thanks for reply mossberg, It is just a stoeger 2000 ...only paid 435 for the gun new.. I went to the gunsmith and he said to use navel jelly...which I did...It totally stripped the black off of the reciever and took it right down to the bare alluminum!!! I shot it with a couple coats of clear and wha lah!! That was good enough for me..after thinking about polishing it, I really dont have that much experience so i just stopped while I was ahead! It looks great though!!
  8. Patternmaster is ,in my opinion, the best choke out right now. It is a ported choke and has a "wad stopper" inside. It is an extended choke so it is easy to take out and change..
  9. I would like to try to make my black aluminum reciever a polished aluminum to make it look alitlle better...how do I , and can I sand off the black finish and polish the aluminum to a silver or grey??? what do you all suggest????
