  1. personal opinion - strip it clean of lubricant then rack the action/dry-fire it repeatedly a couple hundred times.. clean it all - completely/meticulously. Then lube it, wipe it down and try it out.

use snap caps if you're nervous about dry firing.

  2. Update. They had promised to email or call me with status on June 24. They did neither. Called back today. They said they now had no fore ends and no complete stocks but more are on the way. No idea when they would get here. They forwarded me to someone named Randy who is in charge of repair. He never came to the phone. Original person said he was in warehouse and was trying to find a complete gun to pull the wood. He absolutely positively will call me by COB today. I have in-laws in Switzerland that also have a place in Italy. I asked if they could go directly to Benelli and was told no.

    More to come.

Personally, I'd tell them to keep the gun and shove it up their collective arses and send you a full refund.

Bright I tell ya. Marketing dollars drive up costs and when it comes to backing their product..?...." um... well,...we've got new hats for $20ea + shipping so you can market our product for us for free and we rake $15 profit off the crap.

    Thanks! Shop again!"

Replacement of the gun is just unthinkable i guess.. great business.

  3. Ooph. I've got nothing w/that much through it besides a double gun. I'll send out a couple feelers to a few guys, but I suspect it'll be a tough go. The guys I know that shoot that kind of volume yearly to get a gun up to 25K either switch guns between disciplines, buy new every couple years or don't shoot Benelli anything.

Not too sure what else I can say that may be of help. Maybe cold-call a few local clubs/ranges and see if someone can point you in a direction..?.. all I've got right now, Uno.

  4. Does anyone know what the specs were for Tom Knapp's shotgun? He always said that it was taken right off the shelf, added a magazine extension and new sights.

Where can one find an OEM magazine extension to get you to 10 rounds and what length barrel did he shoot (26"?)? What hi-visability sights did he use?

Not that I would ever be a Tom Knapp but setting a shotgun up the same would be a good start.

Also are OEM magazine extension available for a Benelli M1 20 gauge?

    Thanks

    Pat

Champion Easyhit front sights on both his new CZs and the old Benellis

Tube extension(s) I'd have to call and ask a guy, but you could do the same with customer service at CZ/Benelli or Tom's site probably.

  5. ya just to shoot paper. kinda like my desert eagle just fun, cool, different range warrior stuff.

what would you suggest? not for a gun fight but for cool/fun

Pardon for not getting back, Rocket. 'suggestion?' Well, knowing what I do about my personal habits, likes/dislikes, tendencies etc.,.. I keep coming back to, "keep it simple, stupid.". W/O typing a book explaining everything .223Rem/.308Win (or 5.56/7.62 nato rounds yadda-yadda) make way too much sense to look away from (IMO).

My Judge was a dumb decision. Next was the S&W 500.. now I'm coming to grips the 300aac blk custom bolt gun I had done is right there with 'em along with the 25-06 I had done a while back. The 'new' and 'cool' wears off then its just 'meh' and back to the reliable favorites and onto the next time, "Hey! There's something shiny!", hits. Gun A.D.D. if you will.

Just something random I grew to adhere to/adopt was matching brass then to a lesser extent calibers. Example: .375H&H family of brass I went with the .375H&H/8RemMag/7STW/7RemMag. Most of my rifle shooting centers around 30cal, 7's and .223. What I personally gravitate to anyway. Thats kind of a nutshell rundown of my mentality w/o getting too deep.

  6. Lol, he's actually going to be a succulent batch of mesquite smoked jerky.

I hope you're not slicing those tenderloins into Jerky.. I'll trade you some nice clean hind quarter for the two back straps! lol
