  1. Chessie Dog, You first must have a "host site" where you have uploaded the photos on to an internet hosting site. That being said, go to that particular photo at the photo host site, open the photo you wish to display here and right click ON the photo...choose "properties"....copy the photo’s URL. Come to this site, type your reply...then type the following characters: http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/5378Hi_Standard_Derr1_right.JPG Then immediately following your copied/pasted url address, type the following characters at the END of your photo’s url, just like you did the other characters at the front of your photos’s url. ' alt='> '> You should be all set...try one. Bob [ 05-21-2004, 12:59 PM: Message edited by: VonFatman ]
  2. BenelliBoy, Keep hunting, it takes lots of patience and a bit of luck. 69beers, GREAT story!! I had a bobcat stalk myself and my son one spring...the gobblers came in and I lost track of the bobcat...very cool watching the stalk! Here in MO I've decided to give the coyotes a "get out of jail" card. Recent stomach analysis by the MO Cons. Dept. reveals the coyotes are hitting the feral/free roaming house cats HARD (40-60% of their diet!) I used to shoot plenty of coyotes, but now I let them walk on by in hopes they will continue to thin out as many cats as they can eat! Our birds (game and non-game) are getting HAMMERED by house cats...so I'm kinda less inclined to whack coyotes these days... BUT, I got nothing against those who do whack 'em! That is one HUGE coyote. Good shot. Bob
  3. fishmax2, Here are a couple 2004 turkey photos... The first, a photo of myself and a young hunter...taken in KS on opening day (April 14th, 2004) We sat up and called these two nice gobblers in to range after a 30-40 minute wait with a few light clucks thrown in to entice these fellas into range. The young man I guided had not shot an adult bird, he was dead on at 20 steps with his dad's BPS. I took the remaining bird after Cory whacked his gobbler. Cory's bird went 22 lbs, 10" beard with 7/8" spurs... My bird went 20 lbs, 8" beard with 7/8" spurs. Both birds were "graveyard dead" about 7am. We took the photo back at the truck at 7:30am. A GREAT opening morning!! By the way, my bird was a hybrid Merrium/Eastern...note the white/light colored tail feather tips. My son and I have shot 5 hybrids off this particular farm...all the others were jakes. The second photo is of myself with my Missouri opening day turkey...shot him at 11:50am...I LOVE late morning gobblers...they will do things the birds off the roost won't! I sat down in an area I'd seen gobblers...he came in behind me and bred a hen 7 feet behind my tree (startled the heck out of me!) He then followed the two hens I'd called in and as he passed a nice big/fat Locust tree the SBE was up and ready. He was dropped at 20 steps or less. He strut, drummed, spit & gobbled! He went 21 lbs, 11" beard and 7/8" spurs. The third photo is of a nice bird taken on April 26th at 6:30am. Karli and I watched this bird strut and spit after a truely wonderful performance by numerous Barred Owls and at least 6 gobblers roosted on the ridge around us...oh, and a pair of deer came by as well! This bird went 22 lbs, 11" beard & had 3/4" spurs. I shoot a left handed SBE and have a Hasting's Turkey tube and use Remington 3.5" #6's. It's been a good season so far! I'm off to KS for another hunt this weekend!!!
  4. Thanks Wulf, I will try one out at a dealer's shop to be sure...as I generally do not blind hunt anymore...I can sometimes end up sitting at a tree for awhile when the bird(s) are not cooporating! I like to keep moving..unless it's mid-morning or mid-afternoon nap time!! VonFatman
  5. I have a SBE. It's a camo 26" Lefty. My question(s): Is it worth my time/money to purchase & install the "Camo Steady Grip" on my SBE if my main use is as a trukey gun? Since I do not need the forearm, can the rear stock ONLY be purchased? Where would I find the best deal on the rear "Steady Grip" should I elect to buy one? Thanks! VonFatman
  6. I bought a Hastings turkey tube for my SBE and find it works great....tight patterns. I have not "whiffed" yet using it but must admit, I do not shoot over 35 yards...I imagine that's no big feat but I prefer the birds I shoot at drop. They drop. I think you can get them either direct from Hastings (located in KS) or from Cabela's. It sticks out about an inch and a 1/4 but it's a matte black and gives no reflection. For geese, I use the modified steel tube that came with the gun and find it works fine for decoys or birds set to land....don't expect tight groups out too far...I'm interested in hearing about a good SBE Steel tube for "T's"...any recomendations? VonFatman
  7. I got a bottle of Benelli Oil with my SBE (about 3-4 years ago) and I really like it. It's thin, clear with very little odor....I don't have much left, but may want to get more if I can buy some at a reasonable price. Anyone know where to get this stuff? Thanks. VonFatman
