    Nova newbie

My brother and I each own a nova, mine is 24 inch barrel and 26 for my brother. They both are great guns, taken many gobblers with them. did some clay shooting and found that after a hundred rounds they definately need recoil help! The nova is a straight foward all business shotgun, but is best at home in the field. Also did some pheasant hunts and it is a very fast working pump gun, but if I had it to do over again I would get the 26 inch barrel. I've purchased an M2 since then and found that it is a much more ergonomical and so fun to shoot that I hardly use my nova now. But as for pump guns the nova is up there with the best !!!!!!!!!
  2. what are some of your favorite choke and shot combinations for geese and ducks? curious what others have found..........thanks
  3. i have one that operates flewlessly, my brother bought one a week later and it has an ejector issue of kicking his 3rd round out live, sucks for him when a when he needs 3!!!!!!! I'm sure Benelli will cure this for him.
  4. was interested in feedback on the kent matrix shotshell performance with the crio system? Mainly interested in shot size performance for geese and ducks? What have you guys found best?(1,3,5?) I don't particularly care for steel , but I'm open to opinions.........
  5. looks sweet , where do you get this color ?
  6. thanks fellas, useful feedback!
  7. I am shooting the 12 gauge nova and a madmax from drury, in combination with 3.5 inch, #5's of hevi-shot. This is a deadly duo, You will find that if the bird is inside of 30 yards it almost blows the beak off the bird everytime! Theese are birds that the taxidermist can't do much with!! This is however an expensive combo , and you will probably find similar sucess with most aftermarket chokestubes.
  8. Could anyone give me insight as to the purpose of the raised rib on some benelli shotguns? I have a nova and I shoot it very well on still targets (turkey heads), but can not seem to wing shoot with it very well. When I tried my buddies 11-87 with a flat rib I seemed to do better, but , I DON"T WANT AN 11-87. They felt cheap. I'm interested in trading on an M2, but it also has a raised or ramped vent rib. Can anyone help me to understand what the purpose of this rib is , or maybe tip me off to some sighting errors I might be making?
