My connection usually runs around 12 mbps, but it's a little slower tonight. Kids are playing Halo and my wife's browsing as well.

One of the gadwall drakes was a beautiful specimen and I probably should have saved him to mount.
That one on the right under the trigger guard sure looks like a dandy!

Yeah, there are only one or two states you can get the Canvasbacks in and Idaho isn't one of them.

I haven't used him to retrieve ducks. I think he would, but by the time waterfowl season gets here it's usually pretty cold and I think I'd just freeze him out if I took him with me.

Couple grouse from opening day:

Pretty cool. Haven't seen the doves since just before opening weekend. We had a cold snap and haven't seen a lot of them around since then. Was able to get a ruffed grouse on opening day, but haven't gotten back out since.

On the way back from hunting turkey up on the western side of the state we saw a black wolf right next to the guardrail:
He wasn't in his pristine winter coat but he was pretty cool to see nonetheless. He easily weighed over a 100 pounds. I'm not sure how tall the guardrail is (didn't think to stop and measure it) but he had no trouble looking over the top of it. The picture isn't the best as we had to put the skids on and hurry and shoot the pictures through the rear window of the truck before he bugged out.
It was cool to get to see one - that's the first wild wolf I've ever seen.
And no - no turkey. Seen them, but just couldn't close the deal.

I kill birds on private land, mostly trespass hunts. I kill many birds on public land out of state. I select states with cheap tags and/or over the counter tags.
Can you tell us what states you've found that have cheap tags and/or the over the counter tags?
