  1. I bought the comfort tech stock and forearm and put them on my sbeI .

If you change the trigger group from the sbe to the sbeII trigger, it will bolt up slicker than snot. If you use the original trigger, you have to drill the stock out to look like the original to fit. also you will have to cut off 1 of the teets to fit. I also had to file the side of my reciever to fit the outline of the spacer. all in all, looks like a hybrid. But, it works.

  2. This is killer info !

I havnt had my SBE II for a week and am ready to get a jump on turkey choke for this year !

So if i read all of these post correctly, the optima plus choke system and the crio chokes are 1 and the same ?

I am looking at getting a patternmaster for it so i will just buy a used 1 for a beretta optima !

  3. My buddy went to a waterfowl festival in NJ about a week ago. tom Knapp put on 1 heckuva show there !

he was telling me that Tom shot a new choke tube that benelli made to silence the report of a dove load to that of a pop gun. Cant find that anywhere in the benelli web page.

Any of you all ever hear of this legal silencer ?

I gotta have one for huntin around here !

  8. I even think the hunting is kinda slow, but honestly, when is the last time you actually went out and shot as many ducks as the big name guys hunting the most sought after hunting spots is canada and here @ home.

also i thought it was tacky with the same bird @ diff angles.

i bet as the season warms up for them it will get better.

If your problem is only with the high density shells and the regular shell shoot find there probably is no problem with you gun. just sometimes the way you shoot your gun with high density it sometimes will shoot differently.

If you are target shooting for turkeys and you want to be exact of course, try the bolt on truglow fiber optic rifle sites. i had to do that and they work very well. for only about $40.

I will do a test pattern using Carlson's extend steel choke tubes in Cyl and IC..

    Give me your thoughts.

  14. Update

Benelli had UPS pickup my gun with both barrels.

They have had my sbe for over a week.

Emailed them yesterday and recieved email back that it had been tested again by head gunsmith.

Head gunsmith said the patterns were decent.

However, they are going to replace my 24" with another barrel.

I wish they would invite me to shoot my gun with them.

I have always shot a good pattern with my kicks choke tube. But the pattern was always to the right.

When i get my gun back i will be shooting it asap and see where POA is.

    Hopefully its all good.

  15. I am sure that the gun civilians purchase and what the military gets is 2 diff guns. The military proving grounds puts test guns through all kinds of he!!.

If they happen to be the same, know doubt with reports from the field will change the status of M4 being issued. Well then again our liberal media may not report it until the war is over so our soldiers will be @ risk. Good luck with that getting fixed. They may tell you it is shooter error!LOL

IF i was you and it gets fixed you better sell it on gunbroker.

My M4 11707 LE broke over the weekend and this time it is in a different spot.

I have less than 350 rounds thru it since I got it back after Benelli replaced the bolt carrier and barrel when it broke the first time.

During a routine cleaning and inspection after the shoot, I noticed that the bolt carrier had cracked. The crack is on the left side of the bolt carrier and is just below the bolt head pin cam channel.

    See Photos:

Benelli M4 Cracked Bolt Carrier Pictures

I use Remington Game Load #6 2 ¾ inch shells exclusively for the 3-Gun matches I shoot in, and occasionally Remington Slugger Slugs for paper targets in certain stages. It is equipped with the 4-Port “Low Recoil Rounds” barrel that has been the subject of recent threads on this board.

After reading a thread “M4 Barrel Markings” posted by STA on 6-11-2005, and analysis by STA and others, I am beginning to believe that you CANNOT shoot “standard load” 2 ¾ shells or 3” shells in a M4 equipped with a 4-Port “Low Recoil Round” barrel.

If you do, it will cause “battering” of the gas pistons, and bolt carrier, which in turn will lead to failure.

But, if you read the “M4 SUPER 90” Manual (G0093602 – 01/2003) it states on page 72, “Choice of Ammunition” - “The M4 can use 12ga. Shells with 70mm (2” ¾) or 76mm (3”) cases.”

So, now what do we do?

I certainly do not want to be limited to “low recoil” rounds in my super duper, hardcore, military approved M4!

And, for those of you who will say; “if it breaks Benelli will buy me a new one”, what do we tell the family members of the person who was relying on an M4 as a home defense gun, and it broke during an incident that cost them their lives?

  16. [Hey mudhen, did you really have to drag the same tom all over to get some good picts with you sbe? LOL just kidding, great turks !

What kinda choke tube and ammo you shootin ?

Wondering if you are going to reply on my shooter error ?

Like i said in the bent barrel post,

I can meet with you all and shoot it for you.

And i mean with each barrel so you know i am not flinching. Oh well, i thought i would get a chance to check out your beautiful plant.

  18. Go with the Wally world federal 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2 shot, the winchstrs may hang up. just make sure all of the factory packing oil is cleaned and that you have followed the manfctrs directions on oil. now go bust some doves!

    man, i cant wait.

The only shells I have used so far are about 2 boxes of heavy duck or goose loads. I just don't know if I should use my old pump gun or take the chance on the Benelli.

  19. Have you seen the new hornady sst 12 gauge sabots? I have been using lightfields for years now but this new kid on the block will get tested before the season starts. hope they deliver on their claims.

  20. I bought a cheapie sling from walmart. it uses the swivel on the forend but you take the swivel off the bottom and just use the adjuster to hold it on.

why did it take 15 months toget your steady grip?

I ordered the m1 tactical grip for the m1 and got it in 3 weeks. ( they are the same)

  21. User error?

    Head gunsmith?

I for one am not afraid to jump out of the fire when the pan gets hot.

#1-the serv paper work sent with my sbe is not from your head gunsmith.

#2-why can i shoot the 28" and not the 24" if it is user error.

#3-the first time i sent the 24" back it was without my kicks. i needed it on my 28" for turkey season.

why do i have to send my complete gun when i know it what is wrong with the 24".

Nelli Girl, i have thrown the gauntlet, if it comes back with out being repaired, i will send my complete gun to either company of your choice and i will incure all expenses to have Carlsons or Nitro test my sbe with both barrels and my kicks choke tube. only if afterwards if it is proven by them benelli can pay for my expenses and replace my barrel. yes i feel this strong about this.

I also understand that your within spec may be 40" circle @ 21 yards and if it hits within it it may be okay for you or wing shooting or for law enforcement.

But i am a turkey hunter and your within spec doesnt jive shooting @ my 25 yards and its even worse @ 40 yards.

I tell you what, i can drive out there with you and we all can shoot it so you know its not me flinching!

I know i have posted a lot on here that prob makes your pretty little head spin but i can back myself up. I have family, and the man that sold me the gun then sold me the xtra 24" can see what is wrong with it.

you have to face the facts, the choke threads are not centered with the barrel. now that benelli is going to get my gun with both barrels i hope they test for point of impact by not just shooting 1 round through each barrel. to get a true POI you must fire at least 3 rounds to establish pattern characteristics. trust me i have done this.

    guess this enough for know.

    well chat later

OK gentlemen, don't get you panties in a bunch. I realize your rants make for a good thread and sometime fact gets in the way of a good ***** session but here's the scoop.

I talked to our head gunsmith and here is what has been goin on with Mr. Hensley's gun.

First, he sent in the barrel only. We put it on one of our receivers and it patterned fine so we sent it back.

Then he sent the barrel back (again without his receiver). We phoned him and asked him to send the receiver as well. He did and we tested his whole gun. Once, again it patterned fine.

We are still working on this issue with Mr. Hensley and we will make it right just like we always do. (Just so you know, we would take care of Mr. Hensley gun regardless of your poll)

This may be hard for some of you to swallow but more times than not (try 9 out of 10) when we have an issue like this, where the gun has been looked at several times by our professional gunsmiths and the customer insists that the gun is not working correctly it turns out to be user error.

    Nelli Girl

PS - sdkidaho I like your Mr. Whipple reference ;)

  22. Sounds like you have a pretty rare gun there. an 1187 pump.lol i know its a 870 pump.

let us know if it is a magnum 870. the remington 870 magnum " shooting any of the heavey nontoxic ammo is a real whopper on geese. know if you want to buy a new autoloader for hunting to get quicker 2nd and 3rd shots you really cant beat the sbe. just make sure asap before buying that the choke tubes are centered with the barrel. ask you local gun dealer to install a extended choke tube and see if it lines up with the barrel. IE no bigger or smaller gaps between the choke tube and barrel. caveat emptor or hower it is spelled.
