  1. I do most of my bird hunting with a 1962 Belgian-made Sweet 16 with a vent rib barrel. My Grandpa bought it new at a USMC PX as he was retiring out of the Corps. He used it for over 30 years and then gave it to me. Great shootin' gun with lots of memories behind it. I make sure I hunt with it at least once a year.

  2. Your total with the 7 shot extension will be 8 rounds of standard 2 3/4" ammunition (7 + 1, or 7 in the magazine tube and 1 in the chamber).

From the factory, the M2 Tactical capacity is 5 + 1 rounds of standard 2 3/4" ammunition.

When speaking of the capacity of a magazine-fed weapon, the second number will always be a "1", signifying a round in the chamber.

There are some specialty firearms out there where this isn't true. I have seen a custom Szecsei & Fuchs double barrel, bolt-action repeater chambered in .700NE. Capacity was 2 + 2, but that's a rare (and very, very expensive!) exception to the rule. http://www.fuchs-fine-guns.com/index.php

  3. I've cut numerous foam inserts, mainly for SWS and the like.

I lay my gear out on the foam like I want it and then trace the outlines with a silver Sharpie. I have 3 different utility knives with replacement blades that I bought at Home Despot. They are of different thicknesses for different applications. I change the blades often.

  4. I've shot the MP90S, or a similar variation of it. Belonged to a buddy of mine who was an alternate on the US Olympic Free Pistol Team for the '96 Games. It wasn't his Olympic competition pistol, though.

They are designed for International style shooting, which is one-handed target type shooting, ala The Olympics or NRA Bullseye. The extreme angle of the grip causes one to line up certain muscles, ligaments and tendons in the forearm when aiming, resulting in a steady hold that doesn't fatigue as readily. It's a very specific tool.

    Very accurate and very fun.

  5. Here's the one I use on mine: http://shootersconnection.com/store/index.php?cPath=123

BTW, I also use the DMW Benelli Bolt Racker. Fired 100's of rounds out of my M2 and it hasn't come flying off like I've heard the GG&G part doing. I also had the same DMW part on a 14" M1 when I was kicking in doors for a living. It went through **** and never flew off.

Tac Star makes one that is all one solid piece and doesn't use the 2-piece threaded collar set-up, if that's what you're looking for.

  6. If you do decide to have it refinished, I'll add a big vote for KG Coatings. I've had numerous guns done by them. It's also the finish that I use on most of the custom guns that I build for folks.

Call KG Coatings and ask for Chris Fazio. He'll answer all your questions.

You might want to wait a week or so, though. KG Coatings has a booth as the SHOT Show this week and most of their folks will be there instead of at the shop.

  7. That goes in the magazine tube extension. It should be the very last part on the muzzle end. The side with the upraised flange faces outboard (towards the muzzle).

The piece that's like a round cake pan with a hole in the middle goes right behind it, on the buttstock side. The flat part faces the muzzle and the magazine tube spring is against the flanged side.

  8. Modified chokes are safe to use with slugs. On my old SWAT team we used several 14" Remington 870's with fixed modified chokes to shoot all types of ammo, including slugs.

I use the modified choke in my M2 with Fiocchi Aero slugs. I experimented with the IC and modified chokes, and the mod choke gave me slightly tighter groups with slugs. Groups with 00 buck were about the same with the IC or mod choke, though.

  9. If you're positive that it was the slugs and not you, then switch slugs. No matter how well the slugs are supposed to work for you, if they don't then they aren't worth staying with.

Try the Winchester Supreme Silvertips, or the Remington Core Lokts.

  10. I didn't know that.

An Ithaca (or other company) manufactured barrel specifically designed to fit the Benelli would work, of course.

An Ithaca (or other company) barrel made to fit a shotgun other than a Benelli will not work on a Benelli.

  11. An Ithaca 37 rifled barrel will not fit any Benelli's that I am familiar with. I've owned and shot Ithacas for years.

The Ithaca 37 barrel mounts to the receiver using an interrupted thread system. Put the barrel on with the rear sight at 3 o'clock (view when the weapon is in the shoulder), rotate it 90 degrees so the front sight is up, then back off the magazine tube cap until it locks the barrel into place.

No Benelli's mount up that way.

  12. The range you zero at depends on what distances you plan on hunting at.

I usually zero my fully rifled slug guns at 100yds when using high velocity premium ammo. That means I'm good from point blank to a little past 100yds.

Good luck to you as well.
