  1. I have owned my composite H&K SBE since 1994 and shot several thousand rounds through it. I have never noticed it not shooting where it was aimed. I did have to use the shims to adjust the drop as it was too high for me, but, since then, it is the best shooting 12 gauge I have ever owned. The barrel on your gun may be defective, but I don't think the rib placement is a design defect.
  2. I am getting ready to take my SBE to Mexico on a dove hunt and took the gun apart, took the plug out and was generally giving it a good cleaning. When I put it back together, I heard a rattle and opened the chamber and found a small, cone shaped spring loose inside. The spring is @ 3/4" wide at the base, narrowing to 1/4" at the other end, and a 3/4" long. I have carefully looked through all the photos and diagrams in the manual and cannot find any such cone shaped spring anywhere. I have not had an opportunity to go to the range, but the gun feeds and ejects shells okay when operating the slide manually. I have owned this gun for over 10 years and have taken it down and reassembled it many times without problem but I do not ever recall seeing this spring before and cannot figure out where it came from. Could it have something to do with the plug or magazine follower? I don't want to get to Mexico and find out it is not working. Thanks.

  4. I recently bought a new Beretta 20 ga. I took it to the skeet range to shoot it in and was going to change the chokes from the Modified to the included Improved Cylinder. I screwed out the Mod, no problem. Then I started to screw in the IC and it turned and turned and turned but never stopped and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I finally pulled it out and looked closer. The threads were not finished. It looked like someone had barely scratched or scored the choke where it was supposed to be threaded, but never finished the job and it could not be screwed in. I called Beretta customer service and they insisted I mail it back before they would replace it. I think I'll just use the chokes from my Benelli 20 instead.
  5. I bought my daughter a youth model 20 ga several years ago and now she has outgrown it. She loves the gun but it is just too short. The Benelli website and several others list the short stock for sale, but not the full size. Anyone know of a source to purchase a full size stock for a 20 ga Montefeltro? how about a synthetic stock? Thanks.
