First time I tried this game, wow, what a blast. Shot 3rds of trap(did awful, teens), 2 rds of 5-stand (did mid teens) and 3rds of SKEET today at Island Lake With my friends Sal and Scott. Have to say I enjoyed the skeet the most. Even after getting almost getting nailed in the face with 3/4 of a clay after nicking an H7. I hit it and turned that sucker right towards me. Somehow I managed to step out of position and duck and keep the gun still with one shell in it pointed downrange as it crashed into the lowhouse right where I was. I managed to break one of everything even both 8's. 2H and 6L seem to be the hardest. I hit 15, 17 and 17 today, I figured that would do for starters. I got the dvd from Bender and it REALLY HELPED, woulda been lost without it. Shot my Benelli Montefeltro 28" for Skeet and 5-stand and 1187 30" for trap Have been shooting Sporting clays and trap for a few months there now.

I was lucky enough to find a shorty barrel for it for Grouse season next year, very tight cover where I go. This is what happened to my 28" vr bbl, barrel band fell off in my hand. Where to buy a full set of shims and lock plates for my Montefeltro and M1? Bought both used and of course got no joy in the shim department. Benelli says to go to brownells Brownells offers some but are out of others. And they are pretty proud of them, $5ea for the plastic part and $8.50ea for the lock plates. I already have a "D" set just want to try ABC to see how they are. If that is the price so-be-it, just checking with you wise folks first. Is there anywhere else to get them? Full sets or just what i need. Anyone up for a shim-loaner program, lol
