  1. I am trying to figure out what will work to make a front sling plate for the SBEII

I ordered a 870 front sling plate, to see if I can adapt it but ...it's not in yet.

I added the forend cap replacement weight which balanced out the gun, but I do use a sling so I wondered, have any of you or do you know who has come up with a under the forend cap sling plate ?

    thanks

  2. How do you removed the full length magazine tube, from the M-1 Super 90 entry model (older H&K but same model) ...it looks like it is threaded on to a short portion of tube near the receiver.

I need to change out the mag tube spring, but am not sure just how to go about it's removal.

    Pointers would be helpful.

    thanks

  3. Will the Benelli brand buttstock mercury recoil reducer for the Super Black Eagle synthetic model, also fit the Super Black Eagle II ?

Guessing it will, but not sure.

    thanks

  4. Ok

I like my Benelli's better than most, having 6 Novas, 2 super 90's a super black eagle etc etc.

    BUT

You might just consider something like the 590A1 :

    mossberg:http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=G51411

    for $388.00

    or

    http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=G51660

    for $434.00

Both very good models for what your talking

    or

Just get a good Remington 870 version you like

After (of course) you get all the Benelli's you want.

    regards

  5. Quit wasting you time / money looking for a barrel....to expensive anyway.

You can pretty much buy A complete gun, for the price of the barrel...!

Just have one of your FFL buddies order you the Remington Home defense model 870.

Beats the heck out of paying all that money, just for the barrel.....and....you have another shotgun .....isn't that wonderful ?!? :D

    Only here to help......

Besides ....you really CAN'T have to many shotguns

  6. Try this link for your super 90 manual as a pdf :

    http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/manuals.tpl

Tom Kapp has a closeout sale on Benelli magazine extensions see link below:

    http://www.tomknapp.net/store/home.php?cat=35

Disassembly is covered in the pdf manual

Lube the friction points of moving parts...normal shotgun stuff.

Benelli recoil reducers are available ... do a google search....but the do add some weight.

I have a couple of the M1 Super 90's good guns reliable just as they come with normal cleaning and maintenance.

I would tell your relatives "if you get tired of it, sell it to me".

Just get used to how this gun operates.... usually they are set up for regular full power loads....if you want to change to low recoil stuff, get the Wolff reduced recoil recoil spring but, then don't use the full power loads in it... It's a either or proposition on that issue.

    good luck

  7. I haven't noticed this type of problem with the Nova's so, it appears that it may be specific to some of the Super Nova's ?

So, the bolt falls out of battery on it own...? Not good.

Please update us on when one of you learn what Benelli does to remedy or if you can, what action is taken to correct the problem.

    thanks

The Nova or Super Nova is a very good choice for deer hunting with slugs.

The interior quality of the Benelli barrel is better and easier to clean up after shooting slugs than most other manufacturers barrels. This is no doubt, due to the industrial hard chrome and smooth finish inside the barrel.

The Nova and Super Nova are very accurate with slugs that the gun likes and I would expect that you should have no trouble taking deer out to ranges of 75 or 80 yards with ammunition that the gun likes. You will have to do some testing and shooting to see what you and the gun like so plan to spend some time at the range both getting used to the gun and to determine the range you are comfortable with regarding shot placement and accuracy.

I have a few of my Nova's set up with scopes, my turkey gun with a red dot and I also use the regular rifle site version but any should work well enough for deer hunting. My eyes are not so good any more so the scopes and red dot help some.

Pick the barrel length of your choice but, I prefer the shorter barrel lengths in general for moving through brush or in general, for other than bird hunting.

    good luck

  9. I am in Idaho, but I did find the exact model you are wanting (and which I bought myself) at Sportsmans Warehouse. You might google them up and give them a call....they have always had good prices on the Benelli's

I think if you do some internet searching of the main Benelli dealers, you can find one.

    good luck

  10. I don't know if you guys saw Bauschieri and Pellagri's sale (B&P shot shells,) 3 1/2 inch nickel Turkey loads 2 1/4 oz

Till January 4th they have 10% off and free shipping.

It's their Extra Magnum 63 and it has a nickel plated shot size that is just under our #5 (about 4.5 shot size)

    385 nickel plated pellets

I got mine in today and patterned it, ....this stuff shoots !

Anyway, till I tested it, I wasn't going to post on it, but this is some good Turkey ammo, at a good price.

Just thought to let you know.

    Their web site is http://www.bandpusa.com

  11. You could contact one of the reputable choke tube installers and for a nominal fee, have the barrel fit for a choke.

That you could use the choke you ordered and have the bbl threaded for it, is something you would have to ask. Probably send the choke with the barrel. They will tell you if you can use that choke. Most seem to supply chokes with their installation job.

You might contact someone like MGW mid west gun works or some similar ... you can google up MGW. about the machining and installation.

There are a number of companies offering the service......just do a google search.

  12. Some additional notes.....00 buck is not the end all to good patterns so....

Do test some of the 000 loadings.

Test a box or so of the 000 offerings in the 3" 000 like the Winchester Supreme or some such.

Or, the Federal 3" 00 with flite control for increased pellet count

000 does sometimes shoot tighter. and of course hits plenty hard for whatever, hunting etc.

    Paul

  13. Buckshot.

I buy and test huge quantities of buckshot across a battery of shotguns ..Benelli, Remington, some Winchester, Mossberg mainly.

It kinda my thing.....or, one of my things anyway...

    Best long range tightest patterns...

Federal FliteControl buckshot ammo...use cylinder, skeet or improved choke, no tighter needed, and you don't need ported choke tubes

Second best, tightest long range patterns...

    nickel plated buckshot loadings

Fiocchi 9 pellet full power is good.

test any available nickel plated loadings.

Remington is ok, when you can find it.

    Less shot deformation, better pattern

Copper plated buckshot is just pretty, doesn't add anything to the grouping ability.

For nickel plated or standard unplated buckshot, I always seem to end up with the full, or extra full choke constrictions that are fully ported.....shooting tightest / best at long range. Doesn't seem to be one thats best however, what has provided the tightest groups accross the board, in a variety of guns with a variety of buckshot, ...in my guns...has been the long ported Primos Jelly head choke tube....actually more of a Turkey choke tube, but has been a great performer with various buckshot in various guns.

Again, don't use the tight constricted type of choke with the Federal Flite Control buckshot loadings, the shot cup carries the pellets down field then releases them. You do nothing but potentially damage the shot and shot carrier by using any tighter constriction than noted above, with the Flite Control buckshot ammo.

    Have fun

  14. In my smooth bores I pretty much stay with traditional Brenneke slug ammo. Reliable, accurate, and can provide quartering shot success where some of the softer slugs can fail.

You can find KO slugs, gold slugs, green slugs, all from Brenneke and they even have one standard design Brenneke (not the sabot) for rifled. They do a a good rifled sabot slug round too.

You get a full patch would channel from the std Brenneke slug and deep penetration.

You can learn some at the www.brennekeusa.com web site, or check the shotgun forums for additional.

  15. Your welcome

Actually, it's two small strip (not very big, on each side that comes along the barrel/mag tube lug. I was surprised that it has stayed in place over 50 shots but, my original intent was as is your case, to quiet the forend for Turkey hunting and it has served the purpose.

I don't know that Benelli just didn't consider this important but for Turkey hunting and coyote etc., I think it is....at least to the extent that I wanted to see if I could quiet the forend down with a little bit of velcro. I just don't like putting out sounds that should not be out there when hunting critters that are sensitive to such things. Which is about anything we would hunt possibly with the exception of birds for which it is pretty much a non issue.

I am sure there are other fixes that have been thought of, but I just wanted simple and effective and not change the gun per say.

  16. I just put two small pieces of sticky back velcro inside the forend front (that comes along side the barrel to mag tube lug) and at one point in the rear, just inside the forend itself. It stays put, and when the forend is racked forward, it's quiet, no rattle.

Seems to stay in place well and it's quiet.

Hard to decribe but it works well.

    Paul
