  1. I'll keep that website in mind thanks for the suggestions...
  2. The things I see myself using the M4 for would be for close quarters home defense, paper target shooting, shooting home made targets i.e. watermelons, old applicances like tv's microwaves etc....
  3. cool, I'll keep that in mind. Meanwhile, what type of ammo can I buy in bulk for my M4?? I'd like to buy good quality ammo in bulk and not spend too much money
  4. Wow, looks interesting, I'd like to run these thru my M4 but wow..... $1 a round..... looks kinda expensive to me ....
  5. Yeah, I fear the recoil....the biggest gun I have ever fired was a collapsible stock AK47 as a teenager, followed by an AR15A2. After a while I got used to the recoil on the AR15, but I do remember coming home with sore shoulders after a whole day firing the AR15. I'm a skinny guy, and pretty "lightweight" for my height, so I dont know how the recoil will be. I guess I'll have to let you know when I actually get to fire my gun....once I pick it up. But for the time being, I'm gonna head to the range this weekend and fire off a few hundred rounds out of my new Ruger 10/22 rifle I bought....and in the meantime I will see if I get get my red-dot sights dialed in.
  6. will do.....I think I will just only run 2.75" ammo through my shotgun, I have no interest in 3" shells
  7. Cool, thanks for answering all of my questions, you have been very very helpful. Will the turkey loads recoil a lot??
  8. Would I still run the risk of getting some shells stuck if I bought the factory +2 round extension tube kit? Is it much more expensive? Would my model still be able to fit a collapsible, pistol grip stock?? (not that I plan on doing it and breaking the law, but its good to know that my gun is that versatile) What type of 2.75" rounds should I run through my gun? What does the military usually use? I'll worry about the choke thing when I bring the gun home. In the meantime they are going to hold onto it until the standard stock comes in. I'm guessing I'll have the gun in my possession mid-April, right after I get back from vacation overseas.
  9. Yeah I saw the second video, thanks!!! I also got to see my black M4 as well...the gunshop owner had it in the basement and brought it up for me to see it. You're right, it comes in 2 pieces, with some bottle of lube or something and also a bore wrench.... My gun is a "virgin", never been touched by human hands lol.... but yeah, I guess $1599 is ok, but not the best.... another shop I went to had a black one on sale for $1569, but I didnt get it cuz it had a nice long scratch along the top of the barrel. The shop charged me only $125 for the standard stock though, which isnt too bad, as I have seen one guy online who paid $140 for his..... So what I'm gonna do when I bring the gun home is buy a nice sling, maybe Eotech, and a +2 round tube extension....
  10. I went to my local gunshop today and placed a deposit on a black M4. I ordered an additional standard stock, and wont bring the gun home till I have the standard stock.... I put $100 deposit down, and they charged me $1599 for the gun... did I overpay???
  11. Is it even possible to add a 10+ capacity to an M4 with the 18.5" factory barrel?
  12. That would be cool if you made a second video... the fastest, easiest way to take the stock off w/o removing unnecessary parts....
  13. NYC...... apparently they say if a semi-auto rifle/shotgun has any one of the following features its considered an "assault" weapon: pistol grip threaded barrel flash suppressor collapsible stock barrel shroud bayonet lug bla bla bla..... The only way to make the M4 compliant with NYC's laws is to have the standard stock... its a stupid law I think...as I can drive my car 20 minutes into the next town over and be perfectly legal owning a rifle/shotgun with "assault" weapon features..... other states like CT says if a rifle or shot gun has any of the following two features then its considered an assault weapon...
  14. I see....I'll have to put the gun on safe, lock the bolt back, punch the plastic pin out, then I can rotate the trigger group out of the way....then remove stock..... My plan is to buy a standard stock from Benelli and have it installed before I bring the gun home when I go shooting, I'll put the pistol grip stock back on....once I get to the range.
  15. yes the video was excellent and very clear. I'm sure once I become proficient at it, I can get it done in less than 2-3 minutes tops...... I pick up my rifle/shotgun permit tomorrow from licensing division, and I'm going to the gun shop right afterwards to get my M4 in black......
  16. just to recap, I really dont need to take off the barrel, or even the bolt carrier group to remove the trigger group right?? I do realize that the video that was posted was pretty much a complete field strip...
  17. Thanks Caligva for making the video for me and to the other forum member who hosted the military field disassembly manual for me...
  18. ok, you can take it down now.... Thank you so so much for making the video demonstration for me, Its greatly appreciated......
  19. If I dont use the firing pin or the bolt handle, maybe I can use a center punch from my bro's tool box Bear in mind guys I'm asking these questions because the gunshop I'm getting my M4 from sells it with the fixed, pistol grip stock. I live in an area where "pistol grips" are frowned upon, so I wanted to be sure I know how to convert it back and forth in order to be compliant with my towns regulations.
  20. Thanks!!!! how about hosting it up on youtube? Sorry for the newb questions. I'm going to buy my M4 in a few days.....and wanted to be well informed on swapping out stocks and pistol grips before i bring it home....
  21. 1) Does the hammer have to be in any particular position before removing the trigger group? 2) Does the safety switch have to be on? 3) do I have to push up on the shell ejector? or elevator? 4) Does the stock have to come off before the pistol grip? 5) Is the pistol grip easy to twist off? 6) Do I rotate the hard stock counter-clockwise to remove it?
  22. Thanks Hogwild, that was very very helpful
  23. Wow you make it sound so simple to do.... but I wish I could get a diagram, or a personal demonstration... So the bolt handle can unscrew out?
  24. I was wondering if anyone had instructions that they could post up?? I'm buying a M4 with the pistol-grip solid stock. I want to swap out to the standard stock w/o pistol grip.... I've called benelli tech support and they told me that it can be done in less than 5 minutes w/o any tools, and that the tricky part is removing the trigger assembly...
  25. I'll look into this as well.... thanks just checked it out, my local gunshop has it in stock for a cheaper price...
