Wow forgot to include 14" in my above post. I personally would go no lower than 14". (I always manage to make myself look stupid)

Its a 5-position, and same as a M4, the shorter positions put your head up too high to see through the GR sights. I'm guessing you guys would also like my factory 14.5" barrel - I'll post pics as soon as my friend gives it back to me.
It is a shortbarrel? I believe the picture is now REQUIRED. I would love to see a picture of that!
Be careful, class 3 firearms are not supposed to travel without the paperwork, and they cannot be "borrowed" either. The ATF is VERY strict about these regulations. I also hope your friend does not live in another state as a travel permit is required.

Benelli does make them. Mine was backordered for over a year but finally did show up.
I almost bought a Supernova, but I could not find a collapsible stock for it. I would buy on today if I could find a stock for it somewhere. That one is a lifetime keeper. If you EVER go crazy enough to sell it someday, send me a PM, I would gladly take it off of your hands.
The lack of a stock is also killing my friend who has a Supernova. It would absolutely make him green with envy if he ever saw your gun.
By the way, is that a two or three position stock?

Actually it is the standard 14" straight from the factory. Originally I thought about getting an M4 and cutting the barrel down to a 12.5", but in the end, I did not think the 1.5" was worth all the trouble. Besides, with the 14" barrel, I still have 5+1 (+1 more if I load the carrier) capacity with 00 Buck.
Also, I figured it would be nice to have a factory original gun. -

From what I remember, the complaints went something like this:
1) - Poor venting, got hot very easily or something
2) - The open rail apparently doesn't stop the hot gas from flying in your face and hands.
3) - The screw issue, and the new barrel profile doesn't fit the BT rail right
4) - overall poor fit/finish
I've never used one, so I can't say anything firsthand about them. I've just talked to a few people who have had them, and that is what I remember them saying IIRC.
As far a rail options, it's pretty limited. Surefire, B&T, and mesa tactical if they ever decide to complete their vaporware rail. I'm not holding my breath.
All user issues.
#1 & #2 are related.
If the rail is not fitted properly, this can lead to gas escaping from where it should not. When the rail is properly installed, NO gas should blow in your face or on your hands.

It should never be assumed that the tools provided with a product are all that you need for proper installation. I used my own allen wrench and it was notably tighter in the screw heads than the wrench that was provided. Many people strip the screws because the wrong wrench is being used.

The fit and finish on my rail is top notch.
On another note, the best way to breakdown the locktight on the rail is to stick it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. This takes care of the problem very quick.
It is easy to simply blame a product, but in reality, this one is an issue of too many shade tree mechanics blowing up motors they should not be trying to work on.
The B&T rail is a lot like the quadrails on ARs that require you to remove the delta ring. It is NOT like the cheap rails that simply pop into place where the plastic handguards sit. The B&T rails require a bit more ""know how" and patience.
This is simply an issue of you get what you pay for, and when I say pay, I am not only talking about the price, but also in regard to the time one is willing to invest into getting the job done right.

Pretty uncomfortable stock, even as PG stocks go.
I personally do not find my telescoping M4 stock uncomfortable at all. I know that this is just my opinion, but I have taken my M4 out shooting quite a few times, and the stock has never bothered me, regardless of whether I am shooting 3" mags, or 2 3/4" bucks.

M4CQB What is your Bushmaster chambered for?
It is a 9mm. The receiver is an old one (it was purchased ten years ago), I do not know what the specs are like on the new ones, but the old ones work great with drop in sears.

anyone shoot the Fabarm SAT-8 gun? I have a chance to buy one for new for under $900 and a M1 Super 90 tactical new for under $900 as well, both pistol grip. I am interested in opinions on the Fabarm and how it compares to the Benelli. I have a M2 tactical so I was interested in the Fabarm for a bit of brand variety.
I also have an M2, and a friend of mine has an M1. They are pretty much the same gun, so if you have the M2, I'm not sure what the point would be in having an M1.
The Fabarm is a nice gun, but honestly I would save the money for an M4. Hey, if you have almost $900, then you are not too far from an M4.

My 14" M4 holds 5+1 and one more if on the carrier. I hope you never have that many intruders enter your home.
Yeah, both eyes are open while shooting with an optic as opposed to just using the Ghost rings with both eyes open as well. If its close and they are poppin up out of thick urban areas/jungle types. You don't need that crap on your shottie. MOst people will be way faster using their M4 Benelli shooting instinctive style. Then you have the ghost rings on there for you static shots.I hear you on the weight issue, but for me personally, the point of having the optic is so that the gun can be used in conjunction with a NV attachment (that mounts in front of the optic). Down the road I would like to switch to an IR attachment, but they are a bit steep in price (I am not talking about IR illuminators).
In the end you have to decide what you like best, and like I said in my first post, when considering NV attachments I have to go with the Aimpoint.

A shotgun works best with an instinctive style of shooting with both eyes open.
Aimpoints and Eotechs are meant to be used with both eyes open.
The shotguns only real limitation are slow reloads, capacity,lack of real penetration, range and OAL.I see your comments regarding the semiautos addressing the slow reloads, but in regard to OAL, just like an smg, or a Colt Commando, a shotgun can easily accomodate a shorter barrel.

I also have both (actually, I have the M2, but it is essentially the same as an M1), and although I love my M2, it does not compare to my M4. If cost is not an issue, the M4 wins hands down.

The only downside to the laser is that it is also visible to your target. When it is dark, and I have my nightvision, I would not want to give my position away with a laser. Even without nightvision, I personally would stick with the optics.
Lasers with disorienting lights are great when you are going on the offensive into a room, but from a defensive position, I would go with optics.
In the end, you have to decide what you would feel most comfortable with, and what would work best for you.

I used to use steel shot, but then found out that it tends to be a bit harsh on the chrome lining. A few hundred rounds are not going to hurt your gun, but thousands of rounds will eventually wear on the chrome lining.
Coppercoated shot is by far the best for a barrel. Leaves it clean as a whistle, and does not require harsh chemicals to keep the surface clean. Lead shot may be easy on the barrel when you shoot it, but when the residue cakes on the barrel, you end up having to use some very harsh chemicals to get the lead out.
Again, if you only shoot a few rounds here and there, you will not notice a difference, but if you are the type of person that will quickly reach the 30,000+ round mark, then over time the difference in what type of shot you use will become apparent.

A factory 11707 will hold seven total 2 3/4" rounds. Five in the limited cap magazine, one in the chamber and one on the carrier.
Exactly what I said. 5+1. I have never seen Benelli list a round on the carrier. Again, the original poster was curious what the FACTORY listed capacity as.

Well, in my opinion 7lbs is not very heavy for a gun, and even with the rail, the gun still weighs less than 8lbs. Now of course the gun I commonly shoot is an M14 that weighs over 8lbs without the optics, so maybe my perspective is different from yours. I personally do not consider a gun that is less than 8lbs to be a heavy gun.
The other thing is my M4 has the 14" barrel, so it may be a bit lighter than the standard M4. There really is virtually no difference in weight between my M4, and my M2. My M2 has a mag extension and weighs just under 7lbs, and my M4 weighs just about the same.

I have 7+1 or 6+1 capacity, difference only 'cause of cartridge length...
That is from the factory without the extension tubes. I have seen your pictures (very nice:)) and you have the extension tubes, so this would not apply to you.
I think the original poster is just curious as to what the original capacity is coming from the factory without an extension tube.

I just shot some 1,900fps slugs this past Saturday. No leaks. I would guess that the issue is on account of do it yourself "gunsmiths" that did not fit the rail properly. The rail fits very snug against the bottom of the barrel, so this really should not happen. When I installed the rail, I made sure that it fit perfectly in both the front and back.
Weight? I really do not notice a difference at all. The M4 is such a light gun to begin with. The rails are actually very light, and they do not add any more weight than a light set on rails on the "other" ;)M4 (M16 family).
