  1. Anyone know the weight differences between these and a regular full length tube? I've been waiting for so damn long to even order.... and then I'd have to wait to get it fulfilled.

    If you read back through this thread there are weights mentioned for both steel and titanium tubes. You may want to go back through the whole thread, because there are several different numbers thrown out there for different brands.

  2. If it's stronger than steel, why does it wear though? Not sure I understand...

    If I am not mistaken, there was something in the description of the cc bolt handle about the steel part being heat-treated to make it stronger than just steel.

  3. try to find one negative review of a dmw tube

    come one ppl its a straight pipe, not that hard to make

    I haven't heard anyone say anything negative about dmw...only saying why they PREFER to have the cc titanium tube. We hear your preference loud and clear, now how about letting us have OUR preference. You do not feel the cc is worth the wait, and that is certainly your prerogative! However, it seems there are those who DO feel it is worth the wait, and they are certainly entitled to that. This thread has Carriercomp in the title, not dmw. You are certainly welcome to begin a dmw thread...after all, it is an open forum. Just saying...

    Oh, and BTW, calling it just a straight pipe...really??

  4. I remembered a previous discussion about the credit card thing. I found this in an old thread (apparantly pulled from their home page, as described below):

    This is a copy of that detail from their home page;

    Due to our Merchant service software parameters, back-ordered items will invoice at the 25 day mark, or within 7 days of shipping, which ever occurs 1st. Customers uncomfortable with this necessity, may opt for a courteous and prompt refund from "carriercomp".

  5. not sure why people are nuts over the black one the muted is perfect IMO. but it is just my opinion

    I agree. The black one looks kind of shiny to me and the muted one does not. That could just be the lighting in the photo, but I think that I prefer the muted also! I read about people asking for the black coating, and it seems like Kip tries to respond when people want something, so I guess that is the reason for the other one.

  6. Very informative, SD!! I am confused, though. Here is a quote from another forum:

    "The portion that inserts into the bolt doubles as a disassembly tool of the gas system, so it has to be more abrasion resistant than titanium alone. Kip made that portion from heat treated A2 tool steel".

    Does the GG&G bolt handle also have this feature?

  7. Is this the Titanium Hybrid Gen2 charging handle in Black PVD Coated?

    If you are referring to the charging handle that Huff64 has on order from GG&G, that would not be the same one. Only carriercomp makes the one mentioned in the title of this thread. (The one that I, and some others, are waiting for a new batch of.)

  8. My new M4 is black in color unlike some ive seen that the barrel is kinda brown or tan. does anyone know if carrier comp or anyone else out there sells a "black" titanium full length tube for the M4 ?. i ahve seen some made of steel but id prefer titanium if i had a choice. as for the whole r22 thing i guess ill start replacing parts to be compliant if i do find a +2 full length titanium black tube :cool:.

    I have noticed that in miscellaneous M4 web images too. Maybe it is the flash:confused:. I used carriercomp's "DG" OEM Parkerized tone color option. My barrel is not as black as the receiver, but it is a dark almost black charcoal gray finish. The mag tube Kip sent matched purrrrrfectly.

    In his store listing his "DG" finish looks slightly different than the factory tube sitting next to it, but DOES match the barrel on my gun though.

    YMMV.

  9. ....question

    who is to stop me..... what are the odds of a fed waiting for me outside my door step........who really cares......

    ....answer

    no one......... nill....... no one until after the fact.....

    Its either a calculated risk, or compliance. Ignorance is dirt cheap unless it backfires. Compliance is permanent immunity.

  10. Latest update as of July 26, 2012;

    Geissele is currently at Camp Perry for National Championships.

    A member of their staff stated the next batch of hammers for the Benelli M4 has been set in motion.

    *It is too soon to set an ETA for availability, but the greater point is they are coming, and still a viable component in Geissele's product line.

    *Note to self; No ETA is acceptable, assurance to build as able will do. Thank you Geissele.

    Thanks for the update. Wishing one had ordered, will be remedied each time Geissele gets the time to make more.

    Let us know when they get a round-tuit.:D

  11. ...... Can I go to one place on the 'net where they're not talking about this whacko?

    Sentiment understood. This place is a favorite water cooler for many of us. Easier perhaps to find kindred viewpoints, while just as easy to shake yer head and click the "back" arrow.
