maybe that is what I will do..... but it really bugs me that I cant get that dang nut off!! I want to be able to clean the daylights out of that thing....

I am in the EXACT same boat!! I have tried and tried to remove the nut on my recoil spring assembly (on my SBE 1).... with NO luck. I have heated it multiple times (thoroughly). I am now soaking that part of the assembly in a penetrating oil in case the nut is rusted on. Can anyone help us??!!
