  1. Replacing the entire tube isn't the same as adding an extension tube.

Replacing the entire tube with one made in the good ole USA is one of the restricted parts for 922 compliance. Adding the extension does nothing for you.

Change the entire tube, follower and a muzzle device. Hmmmm muzzle device would that be a choke tube from Briley? That's 3 parts I don't know if you need to change more.

If you do need to change more, since this is a ghetto blaster shotgun that you've already paid too much money for, get a Sure Fire fore end and I'm pretty sure you've changed as many parts as you need to.

That would make 4 parts you've change if the choke counts and you won't get an answer from anybody on that.

922 is federal not just California.

  2. Wow call the cut man somebody is bleeding.

Some pretty good info and clears up the rebuilding of mags for CA.

You could still get arrested and spend some $$$ to get out of it but it looks like a winner.

After all losses by law enforcement on the OLL front I would think the DA would hesitate to take this one to court.

It would be even more of a loser if you had a pre ban registered AW/pistol.

It's your money spend it how you wish.

  3. If I were buying today I'd pick the SBE's or M2's if I didn't need the 3.5 shells. The Vinci doesn't have a track record with it's new operating system. It doesn't matter to me to have a gun that comes apart in 3 pieces.

Ask me again in 3 years and the answer might change.

  4. I use his safetys in my M1 and M2 yes they go left or right. I haven't put one in my M4 sorry.

I do know that LAPD gave the go ahead for his Bolt handle, safety and mag extension for the "office".

  5. Where can you buy for less?

I shoot Winchester Ranger Lo Recoil slugs no problems in my M1. In fact they group and function great. Many of my friends shoots them too, one of them happens to be the top 3 gunner in the country.

Lots of 3 gunners shoot Federal managed recoil slugs. Some shooters use the Brenneke slug, it isn't as popular, could be cost.

Winchester now sells a slug called a Win-lite that seems to work well.

I don't use the Winchester Super Sport shot shells, The bell on the crimp has caused problems for me. Maybe their QC has improved.

Cheap ammo is either the gun show or Wally World. The Federal bird shot works great from WW, they also have 1600FPS Winchester slugs and some full boat Federals.

I also have no problem using the Focchi Spreaders shells.

    Good luck

  6. The mag tube extension doesn't count. You must replace the entire tube, follower, and install an American made choke to be "close".

If you do that you can argue you have changed the 3 parts. I haven't kept up with it but you might need to change more. The law is federal and has nothing to do with California. 922r is the law.

  7. At my local trap and skeet range the guys behind the counter laugh everytime the choke tube question comes up.

They make a ton of money selling choke tubes to shooters that have to have the latest and greatest. Sooner or later the fad will change to another type, style or restriction and they'll sell them all over again.

Honey have you seen my extended tubes with the blue band? No those have the green band, no those are the internal chokes, no I only use those with steel shot.

I guess I'm one of the guys they laugh at.

  8. Local shop here has a NIB M4 in black for $1,650+FFL transfer fees if anyone is interested. Just thought I would give a heads-up.

Am I missing something or do you have to be a Physic to know where your local shop is?
