  1. Do the extended chokes for the Super Sport (Crio plus) fit the Ethos?
  2. Load 2 and if you miss shoot again, if you hit shoot the biggest piece.
  3. Changing the stock (and forearm) on the Sport II makes it a super sport - why not just trade for one? (No, I don't have one for trade unless you have a 28inch , 12ga. SKB 385) Good luck.
  4. If your shooting a Benelli, cyl, imp and mod. Benelli's shoot a lot tighter than most - especially the crio like the Super Sport and Sport II. For those who may disagree - opinions are just that. But I can attest to the mod in a SS at 80 yds breaking true pairs repeatedly, with Mike McAlpine as the witness. Full is way to much unless you are shooting mini's at 50 yards...IMHO
  5. Adam, picture sent - did you receive it? Buzz
  6. Mike Allee 5606 Johnson Dr. Mission, KS 66202 913-722-6606 Little hole in the wall place but knew what he was doing with the Benelli bolt. This is the only dealings I've had with him but I'd go back.
  7. Gunsmith I'm not, . Off-set pin to get out. Ended up taking to a gunsmith in KC. Took him 5 minutes with the right tools. Back in the game. BTW, Mann and Son was super fast (3 days from call to receipt) in getting me the parts.
  8. I have a 'gently used' (only target shooting ( 28 inch barrel. $1,450 plus actual shipping to your FFL. I'm in the Kansas City area.
  9. I'm not sure if I was going to get just one gun it would be a 20ga. Maybe a 12ga Cordoba would do everything you want and be light weight. That said, I have a 'gently used' (only target shooting (
  10. Sorry Verduci, I don't have a micrometer. Just patterned each to see how they do out of my SS with the shells I use. I shoot alot of sporting clays and that is what the ranges below are based on - not hunting. But, that said, for me, with 1oz 7 1/2 at 1300 my SS works like this: Cyl - use out to about 25 yds, Imp out to about 40, (if edge on targets might go tighter at shorter ranges to get the density) and mod for the rest - haven't needed anything tighter than mod for FITASC - for sure out to about 65 yards with the mod breaks 'em fine. This is with the Crio chokes that came with the gun. I have SKB and Remingtons which don't pattern like the above so you have to do the range work with a pattern board to see what choke works for you given the shell and gun at the different yardage.
  11. I also have the same problem identifying the choke by reading the laser etched markings. I got around it with a sharpe felt tip pen. I only use 3 of the chokes (really just two) but this is what I do. Carry the cyl in case I have a sporting target in my face - no sharpe color around the narrow smooth band between the knarls, purple for the imp cyl, and red for the mod. I shoot FITASC with the mod and have never felt short on choke (out to 65 yards or so). Sharpe wears off easily but can be also be easily 'reapplied'. Only cost are the sharpe pens and even with 5 different colors - less than a box of good shells.
  12. I'm making the assumption (yep, know what it means) that the Crio are the first version that came out with the first super sports. The ones with the threads at the end of the barrel, not about an inch down, which I believe are the Crio Plus. If I'm correct on that, then the same 5 constrictions apply - cyl, Imp, Mod, Imp Mod, and full. Have both kinds in Benelli's I own: Crio in 12ga. Super Sport and Crio Plus in the 12ga. Cordoba and 20ga SS.
  13. Guess all it took was to say the phone was busy...Got them and they have the extractor, spring and roll pins in stock! Now to see how my gunsmithing abilities are...(yeah, I ordered two just in case )
  14. Been shooting a SS 12 for three years now. Had my first problem this past weekend at the white Flyer Open at Claythorne lodge in Kansas. On station 5, it failed to eject the first hull. Removed the following shell, pried out the hull and reloaded. Fired the first shell and same thing, fired shell was still in the chamber. Now I looked more closely and saw the extractor had snapped off even with the bolt face. Now going through the drill to try to find another extractor - think Mann and Son's has the parts but all I'm getting is busy signals. Anybody else ever have the extractor snap in half?? Love the SS. BTW, about 11K rounds through it and this is the ONLY problem I've had.
