    M2 color

I am looking to buy a M2 for waterfowling. My question is can i get away with buying the black one or do you think i need to get the camo one to prevent dings and surface rust? Ive taking out my Super Sport, but the rain and salt water is too harsh. Saw surface rust on it one day after a hunt and was able to get it off and from then on never took it out duck hunting again. So im just wondering if the black one is going to be the same deal as the super sport
  3. Looking for a 12 GA M2 in max-4 28". I have a super sport and id rather not subject it to the harsh beating that comes with waterfowling that along with surface rust = a big no no. So looking for a camo gun now.
  4. same here... the ducks and geese dont seem to be around.. i went out thurs fri and today and shot 1 mallard and 1 black duck thats about it. if it wasn't for pheasant hunting after duck hunting this weekend would have been a complete wash. It's the weather its still in the high 50's here in NJ and its almost Dec!
  5. i am looking into the M2 as well. I have a supersport but dont want to tear it up waterfowl hunting so am thinking of getting the M2 or the SBE2. I know the SBE2 takes 3.5 but not too worried about that I like the feel on the M2 a little better. Interested on some feedback from some M2 shooters as well!
  6. not all guns are made for water or worst yet salt water. After being in the rain and salt water all day regardless if you wipe your gun down and oil it there might be some wear on it. I always wipe my gun once i get to the car and have oil wipes in the car as well then when i get home i fully clean it, but there is one or two surface rust spots on the barrel. Its not a maintenance issue i can assure you that.
  7. i can get just the barrel dipped in black right? that way i wont have to worry about surface rust
  8. i havent thought of dipping in camo much because i like the way my supersport looks now. The whole carbon fiber finish deal. Maybe i can just get the barrel dipped, but just black not in camo that way it wont surface rust
  9. yea, when i get back to the car always wipe the gun down and i have oil wipes handy and wipe the gun until i am able to get home and clean it.. i guess the cover isn't really worth it
  10. I was looking for a nice cover for my gun to help with surface rust while hunting for waterfowl. I came across these on Cabelas website. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?type=pod&cmCat=MainCatcat602007-cat601047-cat601049&id=0009224 Has anyone used it or does anyone think itll protect the barrel from the water? They are neoprene so i thought it would help with the water.
  11. does anyone have one of these slings? or know how they work? Whats up with the loop in the front how does it attach to the forend?

    Rust

The past 2 weeks i have been hunting in heavy rain for ducks and i usually come home take the gun apart wipe down the gun and let it dry. in the morning i clean it. I am noticing rust marks on some of the metal components on my supersport. It does come off with a good scrub of win oil, but is there anything i can do to prevent this from being a bigger problem?
  14. just noticed that there sold out womp womp lol
  15. nice! Thanks
  16. or if anyone knows if an aftermarket one will work?
  17. Anyone put a sling on the supersport? If so which do you use and how well does it work? Im looking to get one for waterfowling. It just makes it a lot easier.
  18. Thanks for the info!
  19. I just bought a box of blackcloud for a goose hunt in sept because the others were sold out. My question is i read that it does not work well with ported barrels or ported chokes. Can i use these shells with my Supersport and stock chokes? Thanks
  20. i also read that a modified for steel shot is similar to a full choke in lead because steel doesn't constrict as much. Is this true? If so i should be looking to use a modified or improved cylinder for duck or geese using steel shot
  21. thats what i thought. Thanks for the quick responses!
  22. I'm going on a goose hunt for the first time and I have a supersport and I was just wondering if steel shot is ok for the barrel and choke tubes. I know there are some choke tubes that say steel ok on it, but i was always told that steel shot ruins or scratches the barrel. Is this true or is steel shot ok for the supersport?
