  1. Plenty of people, including myself, have disagreed with Obama and not been called racist.

With that being said, I think anyone with a modicum of sense would have to agree that there is a very strong contingency out there that has no desire to listen to anything he says simply because he is dark-skinned.

That's a huge load of crap.. really...

So many racists.. yet he managed to get elected.. go figure.

See, it always comes down to race with you people.. to me it makes you the real racist.

I could care less what color he is.. I think he's a craptastic President so far. I didn't like Carter either, does that mean I hate white people?

I'm done with this thread.. arguing with lefties is like trying to teach a pig to sing. You only end up frustrating yourself and annoying the pig.

Enjoy your choice of President.. I hope the next three years isn't as tragic as the first.. but hey, at least he reads one mean speach.

  2. Anyone save Panabox's pictures of his modded KZ rail?

I might try to duplicate this.. I now have access to a 5-axis mill.. could maybe set it up as a program.

Would be easy to mod a group of them at that point. Then would only need to re-coat.

I would like to see the pics though.

  3. Yes it is mfg. in Switzerland and currently on back order through DS Arms. I got mine backordered and I'll wait. The item is supposed to fit and function even better than it looks. As far as 922r it isnt helping me. To clarify i need 3 USA mfg. parts?

Wait.. what if it was extensively modified here and then stamped made in USA..

or does it have to come from and official company?

Just thinking.. sort of like the bullet button law. If they didn't define what "made in USA" is then why can it be a part made here in the USA from materials from the swiss.

    Guess that answers my question..

And actually you need three parts from "the list".. I have two.. need the third.

  5. Everyone is on Xmas break. Nice job with the Benelli. I agree the Surefire is heavy. I never liked the forward vertical grip myself. The broom handle concept is lacking to me. I do like the navigation lights in the unit though. As someone who spends a lot of time armed in the dark, low output nav lights are a nice touch.

What I would recommend is that you have the barrel profiled down to .625" before and after the front sight post. Have the barrel length cut to exactly 16" with a comp pinned in place to conform to State law. This will cut 10 ounces of weight off your weapon.

Have a low profile gas block installed at that time so you can add a flip up front sight and remove the obstruction from the optics FOV.

Adco could do all of this in about 2 weeks. The balance of your weapon would greatly improve. It would help offset the weigh of that light package and help shift the center point of weight back towards the mag well.

I chickened out taking my complete Benelli to California earlier this week. I ended up only taking the barrel assembly in order to spec out the gas pistons.

You must of gone to the Del Mar show.. I almost went there.

Like I said, I don't know if I would buy the Surefire given its cost, but it was nice to get it in the deal. The best part is I can easily put it on, take it off and transfer it to weapons in just a few seconds. No pressure pads and wires to mess with. The nav lights are cool, nice to have and they use very little power.

I take it milling the barrel down is a specialist job.. is there a website for Adco? Milling down the barrel would make it thinner, yes? and wouldn't that effect accuacy to some degree? So is this done just to lose some weight? The barrel on the weapon now is a heavy version from Rock River.

Right now the barrel is exactly 16" plus the A2 compensator.. so I guess you're saying cut off the length of the comp and have it pinned to the barrel? My old bushmaster was like that.

  6. Does thge Eotech co witness the front sight? They sell flip ups that will attach the same way you have it.

I love the sure fire light I have 1 on my ar also. You can find good deals on them used every now and then. I paid 350 for my last one. I need another for my UMP conversion let me know if you wanna sell.

Thoes elfs did a good job on that tube I wonder if they work for santa?

A little.. it's not bad, but I would rather have a flip up front sight.

The only downside to the Surefire light is weight.. but it's a nice compact unit.

Love the CarrierComp tube.. easy to install and great looking. I wish my Benelli finish was as nice as Kip's...

  7. Speaking of my new M1014. My Ti tube showed up from Kip at CarrierComp!! Today elves installed it. I don't why people were so worried about this. The elves told me they stripped the gun, put it in my vise (didn't even ask me if they could use it) and with a set of "soft jaws" they heated up the area for a bit and twisted off the stock tube. I was told there wasn't even any residue.

Funny to just come home and find this done to my weapon.

    Anyways, here are some pics:

  8. Even though I live in this stupid state I had to buy another AR, especially since I got what I think is a great deal.

Rock River Arms XM-15. A guy had the whole weapon online for sale but I worked out a deal where he kept the lower and I bought everything else. This made my life easier since I didn't have to "import" the lower into the state which is a PITA.

I bought a RRA lower at the gun show for $175 and voila, I had a whole gun. To be legal I had to install the bullet button, but I can convert it back easily if I leave the state. And of course I can only run 10 round mags.. but it's better than nothing and if the SHTF then I can run whatever. The deal also included 5 30-rnd mags which I had shipped to my folks in Texas for safe keeping. Here I have a big box of pre-ban mags and a 100-rnd C-mag.. just in case.

Paid $1200 for the weapon so I'm in this for $1400.. not bad considering the Surefire light goes for around $600 on the net. It has two lamps (125 lumen an 250 lumen) and also has LED nav lights. Cool little unit. The Eotech is the lower model one but it works fine. I need to get a flip up rear sight though. I wouldn't pay $600 for the light, but it was pretty much free.

Anyone know if the front sight and gas block can be removed and replaced with a gas block/rail deal? That way I could have a flip up front sight as well and won't have to have the irons cowitness with the Eotech. Can a smith do it?

Anyways, here it is.. it's a good match up with the M1014 I bought last month. Zombies beware! lol

  9. Lookin' good SD, I was doing some agonizing over LMT SOPMOD vs MagPul UBR. I'm very happy with the feel of the LMT but I might end up with a UBR on my other AR.

    Hookster :)

Do either or both of those stocks have battery storage capability?

  10. Hey, selling an M4 stock on eBay and got this question. My guess is no, but if it's the same as a Super 90 then maybe the M4 pistol grip stock will for a Berretta 1200 FP.

Anyone know one way or the other?

"would these stocks work on a berretta 1200 fp which is the same as a super 90"

  11. I also have more than one M4, that I am trying to sell. I put my M1014 up on Auction Arms a few months ago and best bid was $1,800. I kept it. Although one did go for over 4K around seven months ago on Gunbroker, but it might have had the three position recoil tube and full length mag. I have also seen some of the c stocks go for $800 plus but who knows what games are being played with the bidding.

I took a lightly used M4 to a gun show in Costa Mesa today. Lot of interest. Might have a sale for $1,250, Good thing is that most are in awe of the gun and the ones who know what it is want one.

Good luck on your sale.. You will probably be happier if it does not sell.

I was at that same show.. couldn't find anyone selling M4 stuff so I bought some AR parts and more ammo.

The show was pretty crowded, guess people want to stock up. Thought I would say hey since your a almost a neighbor.

  12. NOPE, the H&K USP is a fine weapon!!! the P90 is the POS!!:Dand you're right!!! as to why this question was asked here!! do you go to a chinese food restaurant for mexican food, UM NOPE!! i believe benelli is a shotgun manufacturer, thus we talk about and know about shotguns.:p so of course you'll get a bunch a stupid comments regarding the POS PS90!!

Hmm.. I guess you are right.. it was pointless posting on this board.

    Thanks!

  13. I am talking about any 5.7 ammo. The SS190 is nothing more than a FMJ round that wont fragment or expand. It goes through kevlar? So does my 5.56.

Yes, I am saying that the 5.56 T2 round has TONNES more stopping power than the 5.7. Most other 5.56 rounds do too.

Again, you're missing the point that the 5.7 round wasn't designed to competed with the 5.56, but instead with the 9mm used in other sub-machine guns.

Good luck hunting bear or even dear with a semi-auto MP5.. lol

Does that make the civilian MP5 a POS? hmmmm

  14. We already know the OP is limited to 10 rounds. Fail.

Which is the only reason I might not get it..

That however doesn't make the weapon a POS (can't blame it for stupid CA gun laws)

I doubt agencies would use it for entry and CQB work if it wasn't a good weapon and the round is superior to say 9mm rounds used in many sub-machine guns (like the MP5).

Of course that's just my opinion. :)

  15. An odd logic train to ride is trying to say that a round that does less damage than a 9mm FMJ is somehow going to be a reliable man stopper.

And I'm far from an expert on this stuff.. but I found this interesting..

    Ammunition

Particularly significant to the design of the P90 is the 5.7x28mm cartridge created by FN specifically for use in it. This cartridge weighs roughly half as much as a typical 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge,[5][11][12][13] allowing extra ammunition to be carried more easily. It also exhibits a flatter trajectory[12][14] and produces roughly 30% less recoil,[12][13][15] improving controllability.

One of the design intents of the SS190 variant of this cartridge (not sporting variants) was that it has the ability to penetrate Kevlar protective vests such as the NATO CRISAT vest.[15] In testing in 1999 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the SS190 fired from the P90 at a distance of 25 meters averaged 9.85 inches of ballistic gelatin penetration after passing through a Level II vest.[16] In testing done by Houston Police Department SWAT, the SS190 fired from the P90 typically exhibited between 11 and 13.5 inches of penetration in bare ballistic gelatin.[14] The SS190 and similar 5.7x28mm projectiles have been shown to yaw ("tumble") in testing in ballistic gelatin and other mediums,[11][12][14][15][17][18] using the .850 inch projectile length[19] to create a larger wound cavity. However, some are skeptical of the bullet's performance, questioning whether this behavior is sufficient to overcome the bullet's small diameter.[15]

Since the SS190 projectile does not rely on fragmentation or the expansion of a hollow point, the cartridge and gun are considered suitable for military use under the Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907, which prohibit use of expanding or fragmenting bullets in warfare

So it weighs half as much as 9mm.. has less recoil and in the case of the military version can penetrate soft body armor.

Keep in mind that the round was designed to compete against all the pistol-caliber sub machine guns in use. It wasn't designed to be a mainline battle rifle, but instead more of a CQB deal.

    So yea, it's better than a 9mm.. Can a 9mm do this?
