  1. thinking about this topic. If anything the Benelli inertia system will work because it requires energy to operate the system. it needs 180 kgm of kinetic energy for a 12 ga at minium. holding it against an unmoveable object will significantly increase that number. You probably would not damage an auto loader gas or inertia as the energy generated is used to operate the system. But on a pump or a rifle you can crack the stock. I saw it happen to a rifle when the lead sled had three 50lb bags of lead shot on it. in any event, it is a foolish thing to do to a fine firearm.
  2. one thing i do know is that by not allowing the gun to have some give is a good way to damage it. Some guys at the range have cracked their rifle stocks using the lead sled. All guns need some rearward movement because the energy has to go somewhere. If you want to hold you gun against a concerete wall and fire you run a risk of damage. I would like to meet the genius who thought of doing this, uhh on second guess I would not.
  3. Lets recap so the ones with the sensitve feeling dont get too hurt and upset. I said I think black shotguns are ugly I dont care who makes them. The synthetic color combo of the weatherby ultralite looks good. I am not talking about "black" shotguns of the assault type but sporting shotguns. So take a deep breath and relax. It is just an opinion and everybody has different tastes that is why they make things like cars and trucks in different colors. Unfortunatly, my only color choices for a SBE are camo and black.
  4. well I have i narrowed down to the Beretta 400. It has walnut with a weather protect finish, the SBE or the Vinci
  5. also I dont think you can shim the stock like you can with the synthetics
  6. yes I love the blued with walnut and am thinking about it. Synthetic though is tougher. I was thinking more along these line like the Weatherby Mark V ultralite. Pink is definitly out.
  7. Does anyone know if the walnut stocked sbe and m2 come with the shims for stock fitting or is it only with the syn stocks Thanks
  8. yes I have and I think they look great if you are on a swat team. The painting is an option but for $1300 to $1600 should i have to? I would just like to see them with some color options instead of camo or black
  9. Just my opinion but to me black shotguns are butt-ugly. and the camo looks out of place on the sporting clay range. Hey Benelli, how about grey spider web or tan spider web on those syn stocks. I know they look great on a Weatherby rifle. (and if you use my idea i would like a discount lol)
