  1. Here is a picture of a pair of completed pistons with the gas cuts made in the appropriate locations. Time to heat treat and then the fun part, testing.

Forgive me for asking, What advantages do these have over the factory parts.

    What will they cost.

  2. NewGunner - Design Concepts appears to be out of business - send them emails which kicked back; phone, as I recall, is disconnected and I think their web site is no longer

So I guess that leaves us with FFT for now :)

  3. I just looked at the FTT handle. It weighs 16 grams roughly. The factory handle weighs 12.5 grams.

For comparison, the GG&G handle weighs 24.5 grams and the Design Concepts handle weighs either 7.5 or 8.5 gram (I forget off the top of my head).

This is a case where lighter weight is superior. The lighter your Bolt Carrier Group is, the faster it will cycle. Stock weight should be the target goal for oversized handles. Lighter than stock is better though.

You wouldn't think a small weight difference would matter, but it was obvious when switching between the GG&G and the Design Concepts. You could feel the weapon cycling more sluggishly. We hope Kip's will be under stock weight also.

Good Info, I originally wanted a titanium charging handle from Brownells but is was discontinued so I bought the steel DMW, nice piece but like you said a bit heavy, so I kept looking and just cam across the FFT.

What is Design concepts web site, as I remember that is the one that was discontinued from brownells for the M4.

  4. Is there an M4 that comes as a fixed choke, IC or Mod? Or do they all come with choke tubes? Thanks!

The M4 has removable threaded choke, comes with choke wrench, there are 2 optional chokes from Benelli for a total of 3, so you can choose which one works best for you and install it in seconds.

It will also accept an array of aftermarket chokes.

  5. M1014 ..... Nice piece ... for both hunting & HD

NEWGUNNER ... very nice job , what do you think about the shot carrier

is it important doesn't affect the balance? & what is you review about Mesa Tactical shot carrier ?

HD and Play, I don't hunt.

I really like the Mesa Shell carrier, easy Fast reloads, been practicing with Dummy Rounds.

I can feel the wieght with the Slugs hanging off the side but with the pistol grips does not seem to affect my aim.

  6. Hi NEWGUNNER,

The DMW bolt handle does nothing for you as far as reducing your count of imported parts since bolt handle is not on the list of 13 parts. Keep your Carriercomp, replace your Fab forearm with a KZ or Surefire and install a Brownell's follower and you'll be good to go. OR you could wait a month or two and get a Mesa stock and the follower and keep your Fab forearm if you like it

    Later,

    Hookster :)

Thank you for the clearification, I thought Item number 3 was the bolt handle.

I just ordered a DMW follower, and that Surefire forearm sure looks tempting.

I was just a little concerned with the extra weight, of aluminum VS the Plastic when I made the decision to go with the FAB, this was all before I read this post on 922r.

  7. This is the best summary I can give you. A list of the 13 parts the ATF states are in the M4.

    1) Receiver

    2) Barrel

    3) Bolt

    4) Bolt Carrier

    5) Gas Piston

    6) Trigger Housing

    7) Trigger

    8) Hammer

    9) Disconnector

    10) Buttstocks

    11) Forearm

    12) Magazine body

    13) Followers

If you want to add a full length mag tube then you'll have to replace 2 other parts. Currently there are US made followers and forearms on the market. Mesa Tactical is making a US made pistol grip buttstock to be released in April, so that will make three. I sent a follow up letter to the ATF regarding the Mesa pistol grip stock and it will count as one US made part since it is a fixed non-telescoping pistol grip buttstock.

As long as you swap out 2 other parts with your US made full lenth mag tube you are safe. Only have 10 imported parts in total.

    Thank you Very Much.

Seems A bit out of touch with reality, but that's our government.

Remove 3 parts from the gun exchange them with USA produced parts and it's legal to carry extra rounds

I really appreciate all your hard work on researching this matter.

Let's See, I replaced the Mag tube with Carrier Comp, the Bolt handle with DMW, just need to replace one more? Anybody make a cool USA made Trigger?

  8. Post pictures of your tactical shotguns

and (or) speak about your tactical setup for it

    don't be shy show us your's :D

I have been meaning to snap a few shot of mine but for now it is in my signature.

I also would like to see more pictures than in the previous thread, it got off track.

  9. How many chokes are supposed to come with the M4? Also, what is the Carlton Breacher choke i.e., modified, imp. cycl??

One choke comes with the M4, I purchased the 2 optional Benelli chokes yesterday, and they are stamped Tru-Lock.

  10. i searched the whole web too to find the freakin best sling there is.

how do you attach it to the nelli? i plan to use the OEM mount on the rear, on the telescoping stock, and the front attachment will be a gearsector QD mount on the sidearmor rail.

It attatches to the factory sling mounts.

  11.

I cant believe you have an M4 with all those listed goodies and have to ask that question. A "c-stock" come on, some of these things should be common knowledge for an M4 owner if . . .

Hence the name NEWGUNNER  Thank you for your insightful Help, If I knew everything like you I wouldn't be here asking questions.

    NEWGUNNER

  12. Hey NEWGUNNER, C-stock just referred to a Benelli collapsable stock. The best place to look for one would be on Gunbroker. The Mesa stock that will be out soon will be a fixed PG stock with a shorter length of pull than the factory stock. It also offers the advantage of being a US made part to help with 922r compliance issues. Mesa does have a collapsable stock in the works but I believe it is on the back burner for now and I wouldn't expect to see it anytime soon.

Here's the breaching choke you were asking about

    http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=53375/pid=27550/sku/Tactical_Breecher_Choke_fits_Beretta_Benelli

    Take Care,

    Hookster :)

Thanks Hookster, I will order the breaching choke.

Is there a Legal problem with installing a collapsable stock on my Benelli M4 Shotgun?

Is that Why I can't find them anywhere for sale new?

    NEWGUNNER

  13. hey GUNNER, i think UNOBTANIUM here is still selling his m4 c-stock for a good price. look him up here or im sure he'll be along soon. if not, keep your eyes open here or FEEBAY or on GUNBROKER, cause i think the prices will come down dramatically due to the mesa stocks coming out soon.;) TS

I do appreciate the tip, You Prefer C-Stock, is that a brand or model?

When is the Mesa Stock due out, I am not really in a hurry.

I can find collapseable stocks all day long but none that I found fit Bennelli M4 Shotgun.

I must be looking in the wrong place :D

  14. hey GUNNER, i do appreciate the advice. and since you still want to bring up the topic ill explain my point again. i heard yours and agree i did fly off the handle a bit early. but i also made a few valuable points and that is ultimately what i was trying to convey. "items not in stock sucks!!" and not listed , "not in stock" is even worse. thats all i was trying to say. i dont know how old you are and it doesnt really matter here. but i remember a time when customer service was about the customer and not just about sales. and im sure many people will agree with on that one.;) and buying pmags the beginning of 2008 proved just how many people got screwed with what i mentioned above. last but not least. jon and patti at TACTICALSHOTGUNNER are stand-up people and they straightened everything out w/ a f/u email. not to mention other people made the same claim. maybe just a bit nicer!!

I am old enough to know what it is like to be on the other side of unsubstantiated bashing.:(

Your point is well taken, I am Glad you worked everything out as I suspected you would be able to, given my experience with TSG.

    Thank you and Good Night.

  15. Hello,

Can anyone recommend the best site to buy a SNT sureshell 6 shot carrier? I was going to buy one from smartgunner.com, but they have been out of stock for weeks...

Anyone have one, and where did you get it?

    Cheers,

    Jeff

I bought the Mesa 8 shell carrier from Tactical Shotgunner and couldn't be happier with the fit and finish of this product, Just unscrew the original Picatinny rail and screw on the Mesa, they also make 6 and 4 shell carriers.

    Looks Cool as **** too.

  16. Nope, and your right you do have rights.

But you did manage to make my point.

I thought temper tantrums ended at age 4.

Did you ever think that you might be hurting someones hard earned business by shooting off at the mouth before you ever try and resolve it.

These forums are very powerful tool to hurt someones livelyhoood, and you should try and resolve your issues before posting, then if you can't get any satisfaction, Bring and BRING IT HARD.

We are interested in hearing the good and the bad if it is substantiated.

Not looking for a fight, just thougt it was a bit overboard.
