  1. What is required to replace the tube (is the factory silver soldered in or green Loctited like the magazine tube)?

    Pat

Loctite. Read a few threads describing the process for M1014's, which sounds similar to to the magazine tube conversion. They heated theirs up, removed and swapped in their notched recoil tube.

  2. Based on all the posts I Just placed the order today for my mag tube extension.

You are braver than I was. I joined 10 months ago and didn't pull the trigger on an M4 until last month. Wanted to do much much homework. The CC tube came 4 days ago and I 'm glad I chose that route too. You'll like it.

    Welcome to the forum.

  3. I got my Carriercomp tube in on the 14th but still need a heat gun. It is a perfect match. I am trying to create an album on here but need practice I guess. When I took pictures outside without flash is when the pics matched what you see in person. Also got pictures of a local patrol officers M4 with the CC tube and his is the same. I'd swear it was parked steel if I didn't know better. It matches better than the stock tube. I will try to master uploading photos just as soon as I complete the swap.

  4. Keep it simple. Ask him why he doesn't have a shotgun. Good chance he'll tip his hand on what he's jonesin for, and there ya go. No mussin with Gift certificates, returns, guessing, regretting outside speculation. Bonus is you can have him along for the delivery and avoid the transfer dilema too. He'll fondly remember the day you tricked him into being a gent, and going to the "store" with you.

  5. Militec when dry claims to have surficants that are helpful if it was applied under controlled settings, on degreased surface. Then CLP after that. I never had any issues with Rem-Oil. Stay away from heavy based oils which tend to slow the cycling down a lot like grease would on low inertia actions that Benellis appear to have, especially in the cold as others mentioned which is spot on advice. I finally got an M4 I plan to keep this time. Wonderd the same as you what to use.

    Good info here.

  6. I even asked this ? on a different forum ar15.com I think a few months ago when I first read this page and the people on that forum drew a blank. Thought someone here mite know

  7. I would imagine you could get a field M2 with 28 inch barrel for trap and hunting. put on a mag tube extension and then get a 18 inch barrel to put on for HD.

    +1 on this approach.

  8. FFT blamed paint thickness on their bolt-handle messing up a guy's finish on his Camo (factory) M4.

They (FFT) still warn (last time I checked their listing) that their knob may compromise or otherwise disfigure the factory Benelli finish on a camo gun if the paint is too thick. I saw this on a friend's gun in an area chipped by the FFT knob that proper clearance (R&D) would have prevented. It even shows on their web-site samples. Nothing that can't be remedied, with a little MORE R&D.

Good call Uno. This is the type feed back a "noob" really needs. Much appreciated.

  9. FFT makes a Ti extension....

BTW the FFT is OK if you don't mind being duped. An active duty friend of mine in California has an FFT and he likes it though [his gun his call]. What they call a "beautiful match" is complimentary at best, but not a match. He was disappointed at first but CC was back-ordered so he took a chance with FFT. It does not match the parkerizing at all, in any way shape or form. It looks and feels like some form bare titanium, with the luster removed. That is why I am leaning towards Dave's or Socomguy's if I ever get one.I am leaning towards steel so I can weld a mount to it, that will protrude through the handguards by way of a cut out, but I do not... DO NOT want mine to be made from 12L14, my welder is not hip to it. Do you have an email or web address for Socomguy??
