Well, there are numerous slings available for that M4 and all of them advise you to rotate the sling attachment plate...to the left for a RH shooter and to the right for a left LH shooter with instructions to not leave the plate for attachment on the bottom...if the retainer doesn't come off, how can you rotate the plate?

How do you get that danged thing off? Thanks Rob
