  1. About a month ago I ran into some Federal 00, 175 rounds packed in 50 cal ammo cans, for what came out to be about $0.30 per round... after tax... yep $0.30. WallyWorld target loads were $0.27 per round for a box of 100. I thought it was mismarked but when I took a can up to the register the marked price was what indeed they rang up as. Needless to say the store no longer had any Federal 00 in ammo cans left after I exited with cans in cart. Shoots like a dream, too.

Other than that I've only seen (locally) 00 for about $1.00 per round on average.

  2. Lift the elevator and place your thumb on the inside of the shell stop. This is the part that actually holds the rounds in the magazine. Press the front of the shell stop inward. You may also need to press the shell into he mag tube to relieve tension. As the shell stop pushes in, the shell will eject, pushing your thumb out of the receiver and the round will fall into the palm of your hand. On some weapons, this is harder to do than on others.

This^ is the recommended method to unload the weapon.

  3. ...my understanding is that rifled slugs are for smooth bores and sabots are for fully rifled barrels.
    This^.

I haven't yet found a (rifled) slug that hasn't been accurate out to 100 yards from the M4... I honestly can't remember all slugs I have shot but so far all of the rifled slugs have been great through this shotgun. I swear I could put some loose dirt and a rock in my M4, pull the trigger, and it would fire. It shoots everything.

  4. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison* a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America... He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on."
Even with all the negatives surrounding the use of "turkey" as a descriptor (i.e., you turkey, don't be a turkey, etc), I must say it is a beautiful bird... and quite tasty, too :D

    *to the Bald Eagle

  5. Reading the 922r FAQ on the FFT page, they only talk about needing to be 922r compliant if you want to add the 7 round mag tube, nothing about a CS stock.... what am I missing?

A total of 10 "imported" parts from the list of evil parts... the C-stock is one, the pistol grip is a second. That would bump the M4 to 11 parts...

  6. Sorry I can't answer your questions but

an M1 which has had 700K+ rounds put through it.

That must have cost more than my house...

  7. Even in trying to "defend" this rep's comments the ignorance abounds:

DeGette’s spokeswoman Juliet Johnson issued a statement Wednesday, saying the congresswoman mispoke.

“The Congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years, and has been deeply involved in the issue; she simply misspoke in referring to ‘magazines’ when she should have referred to ‘clips,’ which cannot be reused because they don’t have a feeding mechanism,” Johnson said. “Quite frankly, this is just another example of opponents of common-sense gun violence prevention trying to manipulate the facts to distract from the critical issue of keeping our children safe and keeping killing machines out of the hands of disturbed individuals. It’s more political gamesmanship that stands in the way of responsible solutions."

Seriously? So all those stripper clips that I reloaded multiple times weren't reusable? Uh, wrong again.

Sheesh... how these people keep their jobs with such ignorance and ineptitude is beyond me.

  8. Anyone one know how many M4 H2O's were sold? I know the rep for my LGS said only two were sold in his territory and I have one of them. Right away it looked like they may be rare so other than less than 25 rds of 1 1/8 oz field loads mine has been sitting in the safe. I was waiting to see if they became more common before I hung accessories in it or beat it up. I just got an M4 I and have a full length tube ordered and plan on changing it out with collapsible stock, etc.

My gut feeling is under at least the current administration, you wont see any more M4 H2O's or factory M4's with a collapsible stock. So sell now or keep a while longer? With what the last few have brought on gunbroker, I'm leaning towards selling.

If you want to maximize your rip-off potential (profit) you should sell it now.
