    M1 forend options

I guess I have a newer one, as it did just slip right on nicely. (I took a $70 gamble and ordered one from MGW) - the SureFire light did have a aluminium sleeve at the aft (receiver) end of the forend, as well as three rings between it and the magazine extension, neither seem to fit or be needed by the M2 forend. That and a new straight (field?) stock to replace the PG, and the evil assault M1 is now a NYS friendly shotgun. For now... Thanks all.
  2. Pretty sure it is a reference to Elmer Fudd, from bugs bunny. Meaning a casual "sporting" shotgunner, typically owning a clay or bird gun, and not much else in terms of firearms. edit: didn't click your like when I wrote this. 1 and 2...

    M1 forend options

Yep, it fits perfectly. (I took a gamble and ordered one). Replaced the Surefire forend light and the pistol grip stock with the M2 and a factory straight stock. Now my "tactical" M1 is NY friendly. sigh. Anyway, two more questions. The surefire forend had a aluminum sleeve on the receiver end, that seems act as a spacer between the forend and the magazine tube. Its about 2.5" long and is split on the barrel side. It seems to have no place to go with the M2 forend. Just wanted to confirm that it's not needed. Also, there were three rings on the tube nut side, that when I install on the new forend, seems to prevent the nut from locking down (that ratcheting effect) at the bottom of its travel. Seems like they aren't necessary, but again, just wanted to check. All is tight and pretty as-is, so.... Thanks all
  4. I have a M1 S90 that I bought with a Surefire (old style, xenon) forend. I want to remove the forend and was hoping to install a M2 forend (I just like the way they look). It is currently a 18.5 barrel, no choke, simple sights. Is it possible to use a M2 forend? I'm quite handy with a dremel, so I'm not afraid of removing material if necessary, however if it needs material added, thats a different story. Any thought? Thanks.
