No one's tried the Carlson? Maybe it's not that good or everyone's a Bennelli purist lol.

For a Supernova 28", looking to double it as a security shotgun. After looking at the price of the Benelli barrel (though out of stock in most places and priced over $400) thought that a second shotgun makes sense. But the Carlson barrels are better priced. Do they work well? Probably will only use for HD or possibly some range time. Maybe 3 gun in the future? Or seeing what I can hit with clays for fun. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/321377/carlsons-barrel-benelli-nova-supernova-12-gauge-3-1-2-18-1-2-ramped-front-sight

Right now just general target shooting and maybe some clays. Supernova came with an internal choke (improved cylinder), and they also supplied a full and modified choke. Will have to look into a rifled choke as well for better accuracy. Might just start out with the chokes I have now as long as no issues with using them.

Which choke do I use for shooting slugs out of a standard Supernova barrel? This is a brand new Benelli SuperNova. Or as one person told me shoot with no choke at all.

If that's true, I wonder how it would work on a Marlin lever action which doesn't have the smoothest action out there as it's quite gritty. I always thought running a barrel hot is bad? Or is it running it hot and then firing it is bad?
