Did the Briley trigger with the new trigger guard some years ago. Expensive, but worth it. The OEM trigger was terrible. The new trigger matches the trigger of my old Remington Model 11 I converted to "riot gun" configuration. Briley calls the trigger a "match" trigger, and compared to the OEM, it probably could be described in that way. The Remington is no M4, and won't chamber 3", but for "back up" to the M4 and "novelty" it is an interesting conversion, and all steel and wood.

I purchased mine with the field stock about four years ago. The length of pull is fine if you have the arms of an orangutan. I did see an article on shortening it, but the gunsmith that did it said it was his one and only and was not interested in doing it again.

Mine was purchased about three years ago. The H20 finish is not very durable or thick. The sharp edges of the receiver are showing black and scratches very easily. It may stop corrosion, but most likely I will never know that to be true or not. The internal coating is not showing any noticeable wear. I removed the rail and there are black lines where the rail contacted the receiver. I have made other changes with replacing the recoil pad with a Limbsaver, standard capacity seven round magazine, Briley trigger and the A&S guard, oversized safety and bolt knob. The original trigger seemed to be about a 12 pounder and the Briley fixed that. The recoil pad was appreciated due to my use of Brennke Black Magic slugs. The bolt knob was the only change that did not work out as it fell out of the bolt. I reinstalled the OEM and fitted a rubber grommet type rubber over the OEM knob and that was a surprising cheap fix.

Went to install my Magpul sling on standard/field stock of my new M4 only to discover the forearm slot is the needed 1.25" but the butt stock slot is 1.0". I have read removal of the sling plate is somewhat involved with possible use of a heat gun to soften threads on the internal bolt through the plate. A Magpul Paraclip does attach to both sling slots but does not swivel freely in the narrow slots. I had originally planned to just thread the sling through the slots for an "old school" attachment. I ordered a eyelet sling attachment plate from Mesa Tactical for the forearm to enable the Paraclip attachment if desired but the only solution for the butt stock was the wire cable from a discontinued Blue Force Gear wire loop 1 1/4" sling attachment. The cable does work but the ends do not seat into the slot due to the stiffness and the angle the cables have entering the slot. Can anyone offer any ideas I have not yet tried for a better connection at the rear end of this rascal?
