  1. I'm interested in the IWC light mount a lot of members seem to have/ use. My main hesitation is what prevents marring of the tube finish ? Is there some type of rubber material lining the contact area. Also, I have a Streamlight TLR-1 I would like to mount on the gun. It has a built in pic rail mount so I presume I would just need to purchase a pic rail adapter for the IWC mount?

    Thanks in advance for opinions

  2. Has anyone seen or purchased the new 11733 ? My FFL claims only LE can purchase, but I've asked several FFL Gunbroker sellers and they say anyone can purchase as long as legal in your state.

I think the switch occurred around 2014, but I may be off a little.

Do a full trigger test once you've done that trigger swap. I've done a few of those triggers that needed fitting to make function properly. The hammer would hang on the disconnector. So familiarize yourself with how the sears engage on your OEM pack before doing the work. How the hammer engages the disconnector, then slips past the disconnector to the trigger sear. How it behaves when pulling and holding the trigger to the rear vs. no pull on the trigger and rocking the hammer to the rear and engaging it. Make certain the safety is performing as intended. I'd also recommend using a good grease on the sear contacts, any will do fine but I've had really good luck with the standard weight Brian Enos' Slide Glide. One tube is probably a lifetime supply for the average shooter.

Thanks SD, I thought these were just drop in and go. Not sure I have the gun-smithing skills to deal with all you mention. With my luck; I'd have to contend with all you describe. Itching to add my 2 shell extension and need 3 USA parts for 922R. The mag follower is easy, but I'm wondering if the hand guard would count as 2 parts since it's a 2 part system.

    I bought this one ... https://www.shotgunheatshield.com/Mossberg-Heat-Shield/ ... from SHS.

Yes, it's plastic, but so are the M4/M1014 forends, so that's not a problem for me. In fact, I like the feel/grip of the plastic better than metal. This heat shield easily attaches to the barrel near the front sight, but figuring out how to attach it near the receiver is the hard part. In advising me on what not to do, the owner of SHS sent me some hilarious photos of M4/M1014 forends that had been amateurishly hacked to bits by owners trying to jerry-rig some kind of attachment near the receiver. Yeah, no thanks.

The Professional Automobile Detailer 😆 in this classic of a thread ... https://forums.benelliusa.com/topic/24550-cheap-heat-shield-for-m4/ ... used a Ranger Band and IMHO it's the cleanest jerry-rig I've seen so far. I may follow suit or use something like ... https://www.voile.com/voile-straps-9-inch-nano-series.html. The holes in the Voile strap kinda/sorta match the holes in the heat shield so it looks a little more artistic/classy.

My barrel is still being repaired by the factory so I haven't had a chance to figure this out yet. Heck, I haven't had a chance to even fire my gun yet. I guess I should start there before I start adding stuff to it. 🙃

Just curious, since you haven't shot your gun yet; what's wrong with your barrel ?

  5. Even though I'm in the process of making sure I'm 922R compliant with my m4; this crap is such BS it makes me steam to no end. Sporting purposes ? Don't see that in the 2A. This bureaucracy needs to be abolished once and for all. Making up "rules" to fit their political views. Something legal today then illegal tomorrow. And it seems to be worse now than ever.

  6. Thanks everyone for responding to my topic. All comments are very helpful and appreciated. I planned on purchasing and installing the BenelliParts.net trigger kit for 922r and was wondering if I should do the aluminum guard as well. Initially, I was going to buy the Benelli OEM aluminum guards ($148 ea), but it seems it's hit/miss if you get one without defects. The A & S trigger guard appears to be of high quality, but is quite expensive ($229 ea).  Just not sure if it'sworth the extra cost for the casual shooter. I just don't see myself being that aggressive with the loading.

  7. Can someone give me a brief history of when the aluminum trigger guard/ housing to polymer occurred on the M4s?  I have an 11718 I purchased new 10-2016 and an 11795 on 7-2020. I'm assuming the 11795 is polymer, but not sure about the 11718.  For the occasional shooter; is it worth switching out a polymer guard/ housing for aluminum?  I believe SD recommends A&S Engineering over the Benelli OEM aluminum. Any insight much appreciated.

  8. I'm thinking of ordering the Benelli M4 / M1 M2 M3 922r trigger undiscouraged kit from BenelliParts.net and before I plunk the money down; I was wondering if any forum members have current first hand purchase experience with them in 2022. Reading previous forum topics, concerning BenelliParts.net; it looks like most complaints concerned pre-orders. The website shows in stock; so pre-order would not come in to play. The trigger kit, itself, is showing positive reviews on their website. I don't want to stir up any old issues; so please just current experience. I know FFT has a kit, but the cost difference is quite significant which may be due to FFT including springs. I don't want to change springs; I'm just interested in 922R compliance when I add a 2 round extension tube.

BTW, can someone tell me what undiscouraged means in the description for this kit ?

    Thanks

  9. Wondering if anyone has purchased the magazine follower from Benelliparts.com that says its 922R. Are they actually made by Benelli or are they secondary market. Would like to know if they are stamped USA. Not sure how you would prove its USA part unless stamped. I know FFT sells them, but was trying to keep it Benelli if possible.

    Thanks

  10. I know this is late in the game for this post, but I just reviewed SDs "Complete Trigger Group Assembly" and it is excellent!!! It gave me enough confidence to go ahead and buy the TTI Benelli AccuGuide Extended Carrier. Very descriptive and well organized; thanks SD !!!

  11. I did a search before asking this question because I'm sure its been discussed before, but couldn't get a hit. I was watching a youtube, of someone shooting their M4, and they were complaining about the barrel being hot when reloading. He said he was going to buy a heat shield, but failed to mention what brand he was going to buy. Doing some internets searching; I see ATI mentioned quite a bit, but that seems to be more of a quad rail addition than a heat shield. I don't want to make any modification to the shotgun; just a bolt-on is my goal. Any recommendations, opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  12. I added a DMW extension to my M4 and they sent a spring with i... I didn't install their spring and just out of curiosity; I loaded with the stock 5 round spring in place. It's been a while since I did this, but I think I barely got 7 rounds in with the stock spring... Is that possible ? Or maybe 6 -3".

  13. Thanks everyone for responding to my question. I enjoy reading all the recommendations and experiences. Hopefully we can get a few more... Normally I don't buy something without researching first, but in this environment and on the site I purchase from; popular brands/ models(???) are gone if you look away or blink.  To Diesel79; yes unfired.

    Thanks again everyone

  14. I recently purchased some Federal Law Enforcement 12 Gauge Ammo LE127RS for my shotguns. Overnight I started to realize I should have made sure it would actually function in the M4 before purchase; not after. here are the stats if anyone could enlighten me; would be a great help:

    Bullet Type Hydra-Shok Rifled Slug
    Muzzle Velocity 1300 fps
    Muzzle Energy 1655 ft. lbs
    Primer Boxer
    Casing Brass Casing

     Thanks

Also, Is there an ammunition table, somewhere, of what is known to work/ not work?

You might want to try the SigTalk forum. Wealth of knowledge over there.

Thank you for the heads up on Sig Talk. I found a discussion there about the specific model I'm looking at and what the "W" designates.

    Thanks again

  16. Hopefull it is permitted to ask a non Benelli question on this forum? If not, I apologize and please delete. If yes, I'm thinking of purchasing a Sig Sauer P226, WE26R-40-BSS-SRT. I believe it to be discontinued and cannot find any particulars on this pistol. I'm trying to find out what the "W" designates. There seems to be plenty of information on the model without the "W". Any help is appreciated.
