  1. Thanks Guys,

Great update to an already excellent thread!

Note; thanks for pointing out the wear marks on your Stock Retaining bolt. On mine the threads were so beat up that I had to clean them up with an 8x1.00 die before reassembly. Maybe Benelli should cut a slot in the butt end, I sure made things easier for me!

    Thanks again Guys

  2. Just replaced my stock Sling Plate with the Noveske plate. Could not have been easier, thanks to SD and everyone who's contributed over the years. Encountered a lot of factory Loctite on both ends of the Stock Retaining Pin, the heat gun did the trick, don't use a torch of any kind as it will melt the nyloc portion of the Stock retaining Nut. The best tip was from HalG, definitely cut that screwdriver slot in the butt end of that pin, really speeds up reassembly, and a huge help if you ever need to get back in there!

My only question for SD is regarding the spring washers. Can you add some detail describing the proper order that these should be installed. I assumed that they should go together to create four separate springs. Seemed to work pretty well.

Thanks again SD, all of your tutorials are really well done and really should be collected together and pinned for future reference.

Agreed. I’ve worked on a lot of Beretta 9x pistols. Used to carry a 92G Elite II on duty. Lot of work with Ernest Langdon back at the beginning of LTT. The factory trigger springs were always crap and Wolff made a solid replacement that improved the trigger. The hammer springs were usually swapped out with the D model spring.

You always have something of quality to share, this time a nice diversion into the finer points of the Beretta pistols.

Anytime you want to expand on M1 Garands, Smith and Wesson revolvers or Custom 1911s, along with SIG/ Sauer, HK, and Glock Pistols,

    please  feel free.

    Thanks SD!

Why, do you believe it's some sort of special edition model ? They were probably all Monday or Friday receivers lol.

Not a special edition at all, the consensus here seems to be bad quality control with unintended circumstances, I along with at least a few others seem to like the happy accident.

The reason I posed the question was that there is a long history of this kind of thing in firearms manufacturing where a mistake in a limited number of guns turned out to be a feature that collectors later sought out, especially because it's only found on a limited number of guns before the problem is corrected.

  5. I agree, I have mostly Vickers slings and believe that one can't do better than that.

I picked up the Benelli sling thinking that they might have possibly come up with something new or innovative.

I'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

  6. Thanks Shooter,

I appreciate the input, a couple of observations.

First, the front loop with the snaps will not pass thru the front attachment point, I found that odd. I feel like it's weird that the forward and rear end attachments are not the same.

Second, there is a loop of webbing next to the front HK clip, not sure what that's designed for.

Thanks again for commenting, and all your contributions to this forum.

  7. I've attempted to restart a similar thread on this sling, with little result.

I purchased one and am confounded by it, and I've had no luck finding information on any of it's features.

Mine sits on my work bench in the original package.

  8. Benelliparts has been 100% professional, shipped parts the same or next day with parts that are in stock, and on pre-order items, they arrived many weeks before the estimate.

Antoine answers the phone if you call, and has been very courteous.

    That's my experience.

Greetings to the forum members involved in this discussion regarding the M4. BenelliUSA would like to provide some information regarding the comments in this thread to help in the overall understanding, and assist as needed to ensure all of our customers are satisfied with our products.

We are aware of some coloration variance on M4’s, like the one pictured in this thread. The finish on the M4 receiver is a Hard Anodizing process, per the USMC specification. This finish is stronger than standard anodizing, and this strength provides a product which is less likely to scratch or corrode. However, this process inherently has a higher degree of color drift than standard anodizing. While we do have quality standards in place to reduce the variance, it is impossible to eliminate it. We have found, as some mention in this thread, that some customers actually prefer this coloration. If someone is not happy with one of our products, our fantastic customer service team is committed to finding agreeable solutions.

There also appears to be some comments regarding the trigger guard material. All current M4’s, in all variations such as the M1014, Law Enforcement, and Military versions use a high strength techno-polymer trigger guard. This was a product update which occurred in 2014 as a quality improvement. The polymer trigger guards have a near zero failure rate, and we are very confident in their performance.

We hope this helps your conversation, and ask that if you’d like to speak with someone directly feel free to call us at  800 264-4962, or use this link to email our customer service team. https://www.benelliusa.com/support/contact-us

  12. The entire sling is 1.25" so already it isn't going to slip through the rear sling loop on my fixed pistol grip stock.

These two images are what I imagined as might be the forward end, it starts with a small sewn piece of webbing with a snap that is too thick to fit through either sling mounting points followed by a high quality HK clip (note: this sling is also supposed to work with the MR 1 rifle as well, so some of these features might only apply to that platform alone).

Under the HK clip is a sewn loop (not sure what that does), followed by a Fastex buckle, then a Try-Glide slide.

The third image shows the opposite end. Three layers of webbing, the top one is sewn into a Triple-Glide, and it all ends at an HK clip and a nice piece of reinforced 1.25" webbing with a buckle.

    Hello,

Did anyone order and receive this yet?  I would appreciate your impressions and maybe a picture or two with the M4.  Thank you

I second this. I received mine and cannot figure it out as far as how it is rigged to a stock M4, which end is which,  the different features. It is very well made, and I'm sure a lot of thought went into the design, it's just not readily apparent.

Just so no one accuses me of being an idiot, I'm in the firearms industry, specialize in military applications, and am familiar with just about every sling design since the 1800s. In addition, I've spoken to Antoine and he's not completely sure of all it's features.

Thanks for any and all contributions.
