Thanks Guys, Great update to an already excellent thread! Note; thanks for pointing out the wear marks on your Stock Retaining bolt. On mine the threads were so beat up that I had to clean them up with an 8x1.00 die before reassembly. Maybe Benelli should cut a slot in the butt end, I sure made things easier for me! Just replaced my stock Sling Plate with the Noveske plate. Could not have been easier, thanks to SD and everyone who's contributed over the years. Encountered a lot of factory Loctite on both ends of the Stock Retaining Pin, the heat gun did the trick, don't use a torch of any kind as it will melt the nyloc portion of the Stock retaining Nut. The best tip was from HalG, definitely cut that screwdriver slot in the butt end of that pin, really speeds up reassembly, and a huge help if you ever need to get back in there! My only question for SD is regarding the spring washers. Can you add some detail describing the proper order that these should be installed. I assumed that they should go together to create four separate springs. Seemed to work pretty well. Thanks again SD, all of your tutorials are really well done and really should be collected together and pinned for future reference.

Not a special edition at all, the consensus here seems to be bad quality control with unintended circumstances, I along with at least a few others seem to like the happy accident. The reason I posed the question was that there is a long history of this kind of thing in firearms manufacturing where a mistake in a limited number of guns turned out to be a feature that collectors later sought out, especially because it's only found on a limited number of guns before the problem is corrected.

Blue M4s, some people hate them and some love them, but a question that keeps coming up is how many were made and during what time frame.

Fucked up or not, the blue is beautiful.

I agree, I have mostly Vickers slings and believe that one can't do better than that. I picked up the Benelli sling thinking that they might have possibly come up with something new or innovative. I'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

Thanks Shooter, I appreciate the input, a couple of observations. First, the front loop with the snaps will not pass thru the front attachment point, I found that odd. I feel like it's weird that the forward and rear end attachments are not the same. Second, there is a loop of webbing next to the front HK clip, not sure what that's designed for. Thanks again for commenting, and all your contributions to this forum.

I've attempted to restart a similar thread on this sling, with little result. I purchased one and am confounded by it, and I've had no luck finding information on any of it's features. Mine sits on my work bench in the original package.

Anyone figure this sling out yet? I purchased it because it was an oem Benelli part the is very well made. Just can't figure it out, any help would be appreciated!

The entire sling is 1.25" so already it isn't going to slip through the rear sling loop on my fixed pistol grip stock. These two images are what I imagined as might be the forward end, it starts with a small sewn piece of webbing with a snap that is too thick to fit through either sling mounting points followed by a high quality HK clip (note: this sling is also supposed to work with the MR 1 rifle as well, so some of these features might only apply to that platform alone). Under the HK clip is a sewn loop (not sure what that does), followed by a Fastex buckle, then a Try-Glide slide. The third image shows the opposite end. Three layers of webbing, the top one is sewn into a Triple-Glide, and it all ends at an HK clip and a nice piece of reinforced 1.25" webbing with a buckle.

Love HKParts, I definitely do not want to suggest anything negative at all regarding their sling. Just curious if any others are a little puzzled by the design.

I second this. I received mine and cannot figure it out as far as how it is rigged to a stock M4, which end is which, the different features. It is very well made, and I'm sure a lot of thought went into the design, it's just not readily apparent. Just so no one accuses me of being an idiot, I'm in the firearms industry, specialize in military applications, and am familiar with just about every sling design since the 1800s. In addition, I've spoken to Antoine and he's not completely sure of all it's features. Thanks for any and all contributions.
