I’ve only shot maybe 1500 of back aces buckshot and slugs thru it.Haven’t seen much wear on receiver

Sounds like you've got a good one, I've read mixed reactions to them. I personally do not have a clone, I just thought it was an interesting question he was posing and really didn't know the answer to.

I'm unable to load 7 rounds of 2 3/4" with the stock spring. I've read in a few different places it should be possible with the Wolff spring.

Have you tried direct from Wolff springs? That's where I get mine, I've ordered a few times from them. Not all shot shells are the same length, depending on what you're trying to load you may only get 6 in the magazine, that's not uncommon. Still, 6 in the mag, 1 in the chamber and 1 ghost loaded is pretty formidable.

  3. I don't know of any downsides to a 2 round extension vs a 7 round tube as long as you replace the 5 round spring. Be aware that shot shells vary in length between manufacturers so you may only be able to load 6. Fetter's are shorter and will load 7 but they're from Russia, I haven't seen them for sale for months.

My experience is shells really don't come anywhere near it while quad loading, so it doesn't really help me in any way.  I've seen other people claim it does. I've often wondered if they just think it does, or are they loading much differently than I do?

You slap the shells on it and it guides them right in, it's why some used to try to dremel a channel in the polymer ones. How you're loading where the shells don't come "anywhere near it" is beyond me, the trigger guard channel is right next to the feed ramp.

  5. Right, but it won't "fade". Again, I'd keep it just like that, I like rare stuff. I'm doing like 4 things at once so let me clarify. Bluing will patina after decades. I suppose anodizing would change color if you left it in the sun for a long time, exactly what color it would change to, I have no idea. But I don't think, being stored out of the sun it will change color.

Wouldn’t it fade to gray though?

Bluing takes decades to patina, I have no idea what it will turn to but I wouldn't call it "fading". Of course this is just my opinion but I would treasure it if I were you, they don't all come out like that. Who knows why but it's something special.

    Benelli  does make a 14.5 M3

But I have no clue if there are any additional considerations, like you mentioned, for the semi-auto cycling when the barrel is shortened. I wouldn't go past the 14.5 at least for a SBS

Maybe I'm just, "once bitten, twice shy" but I'd hate to spend money on something only to find out I ruined a key feature. The M3 is one gun I personally would not SBS.

    so whats the consensus from

the hive mind, oem handguard stippled still the way to go? or MI handguard, just about to pick up my new NP3 m4 this week and debating on stippled oem handguard + NP3 IWC QD mount or MI handguard, is the MI considered go to over the Briley !?

I, personally, like the Briley handguards. I have both the long and the short but I don't have an MI to do a direct comparison. In your situation I'd go with the OEM for a bit before I'd spend the $ on any other. Congrats on the NP3, I know you're excited; show us pics!

  9. The M3 is an inertial semi-auto action gun. I'm not sure what putting a shortened barrel on it would do to the cycling action. Sure, you can use the pump feature if it fails to cycle but personally I would not spend money buying and cutting down a barrel just to ruin the semi-auto action. If you do let us know how well it works.

Pretty much what I was expecting from it. I didn't have any low brass ammo so only shot the 00 buck that I had. Imagine my surprise when it stopped after the first round put of it. 😭

I bought some Fetter last year, several boxes had taller brass than others. I did some research, low brass/ high brass is pretty much a marketing gimmick. The brass doesn't contain the combustion, the chamber does. There is a thread on it.

    Good to go.

I'll "pull the trigger" on it by placing an order for one this week. We'll see how it turns out first hand, so fingers crossed.

I'm gonna be seriously bummed out if I tracked down an Agency Arms rail (finally) and an IWC Scout mount that are both installed on my M4 for nothing.

My struggle: a) keep current set up A.Arms rail w/ light and IWC mount w/ sling that casts a shadow VS. b) purchase and install M.Industries rail to mount light and sling on that will mitigate shadow casting

I placed my light under the barrel for that very reason, no more shadow-casting.

Honestly I didn’t know about the “NP3” thing until I realized the later purchase has different bolt color. It was sold as a 11707 model, which was labeled as such on the box. But I also see faded/covered-up code that says 11711 (didn’t know about this model until I looked up np3 variance). Could this be 11711 then rebadged to 11707 to become compliant?
