    Nice setup.

I'd get the titanium magazine tube from carriercomp for it and a BlueForceGear padded QD sling.

Which of the tubes looks closest to factory finish? DG, or muted?

     Thanks

First off, thank you to @StrangerDanger for your guides. I saved a bunch of them to review while waiting on my stamp to clear, and it made my work much easier, thanks bud. 👍 I still need an optic, but here she is so far. It was on my bucket list and I had a helluva bonus last year, and I found a good deal on her. Still working on the 5-shell thing but she is definitely fun to shoot.

It’s hard to get the scope of how sweet the entry is, plain, out of the box. I’d consider mine, minimalistic, as a whole. I had the scalarworks, T2, modlite n mount, sling, limb saver, shotgun cards, match saver, n second set of handguards, prior to form 4 approval. So I was committed to a path I wanted for overall build. I am very pleased with how it turned out, as I am not shotgun-centric in my profession and despite owning many niche, high dollar Gucci firearms, the entry is my favorite. Despite all this, when I finally picked it up, absent of seeing it for 6 months, I was very torn, not leaving it as is and immediately wanted a second to leave un-molested. Sooo badass and soooo much handier feeling than the full-size sibling. Congratulations. It looks great!

  3. Copy. Yeah I’ve seen that one once before. I’ve no issues with my M4 collapsible, but for this build I really do prefer the option pulling the detent and adding another abbreviated configuration that the supernova stock provides.

Hopefully we each gain headway on this. I haven’t obtained a platform yet, as I am unsure of which model I should begin with. In my case, probably the c-stock already on board, the obtain a 5 shot nut, chop n LPA sight. Unless I can source the European barrel… doubtful though

  4. Yeah, it sucks as I have been on this path briefly and the almost is a dull contempt it seems. To the point of I think I may attempt to import a NFA factory barrel on letterhead.

Steve Rose is mentioned here in this thread:

Here is my attempt at gaining info on the M3

I believe you mean the Super Nova Stock assembly and not the M4 Stock assembly.

It would seem that individuals are hesitant to do work on Bonelli barrels because they are thin walled. After further research I think that they will chop them but they will not thread them for chokes. The other source of contention is to attach a front sight that is applicable.

cotton branch customs, on Instagram, said they WILL, do the work.

Keep me posted. Expensive project, but a badass gun in a 14.5 configuration….19.5, meh, not so much

I’m new here, I have one prior post.

I currently have a Benelli M3 (11606) inbound and I was looking at options, so I have a few questions….

    1. Does the M3/Supenova Collapable (cstock) have the pull pin remove the tube option like the one on Benelli.it site shows?
    2. Where is the best place to find an M3 barrel that is either 12.5-14 inches or one that can be cut without spending the price of a complete new gun?

    3. Who will actually cut, crown and port such a barrel?

    4. Lastly, why is the price of a barrel 2/3 the cost of a new Benelli Shotgun?

    Thanks!

Where did you end up on this endeavor? I think someone like Steve Rose is your only option on trimming the barrel. Unfortunately Benelli only offers a entry option in European venues for the M3.

this company Offers M3 barrels in both rifled and ghost ring configurations. The trick is going to be finding an applicable front sight in a proper height for the configuration.

I was pretty hot to trot on a sbs’d M3 after seeing the factory configuration, with collapsing stock. Very adaptable considering you can pull the pin and have a pistol grip only configuration for breaching or a pack.

curious if anyone knows what parts are needed on the newer style receiver to install the collapsing stock, that converts to pistol grip, if I were to buy one with a fixed stock.

if I were to purchase the firearm with the applicable collapsing stock, I would have to source the shorter, standard magazine cap, with 5 shot extension. These seem difficult to source.

  6. Purchased a second set of handguards to stipple with a bit more of a mature/M1-ish layout, while preserving the originals.  Apparently the “NEW” handguards purchased were of an older iteration, because they would not fit, as the mold did not have the notch for the barrel indexing collar. I fit the handguard and no one would be the wiser. Added a match saver, having to counter sink the nut to avoid piston contact. It worked well, but in hindsight, I wish I would have stuck to Velcro, given acceptance of Velcro as an accepted means for side saddles. Anyone know when Benelli transitioned to the use of the barrel indexing collar? These are a little more sheen compared to a more matte finish on current GEN….41A8CEA5-23ED-4F4C-98A8-BD05C934CCDD.thumb.jpeg.5a9fab0ab05663a6b0dc3628f42168b2.jpeg

  7. Received Form 4 Approval on Aug 3. This after I sent a Expedite Request. Wish I’d have known back in February.

Barrel was flush. So I was a static that I didn’t have to send it off to Steve Rose. I was worried about the finish being blue, but it was HK black. Looks great stock. However for practical purposes I had already committed to a Scalarworks mount, a T2 micro, Modlite PHL, Impact weapon system light mount and Esstac shotgun cards. I purchase 7 round cards, but cut them down to 4. Only thing left to do is stippling the hand guard eventually. Limb Savor modified and installed yesterday.

Unfortunately the Stock is canted to the right and improperly timed. This will need remedied. Not really noticeable when cheeking the gun. Should affect function.

Ran approximately 75 rounds of light trap loads this morning after some 00 & Slug sight in. Ran like a kitten. If cycles light loads, it should run anything.

Very pleased after today. Enough to drown my canted stock bitterness. Very fast on El presidente poppers. Can’t wait to take it to class next month. I’ll shake hands with it a bit more until then.

  8. @RxArms

Did some research. It appears that there is a nut at the end of the recoil tube that interfaces with the receiver, similar to a castle nut on an AR. Any reason that I can’t simply loosen this after heating, give it an 1/8 of a turn and lock it back down? Or is this going to cause tube protrusion?

shot 75 rounds of light trap loads today and about 20 rounds 00, few slug for sight in. Ran like a champ. No worries on function. Especially if it cycles light loads.

this honestly is not that hard to fix with the right tools.  You just need to heat up the receiver, break the red locktight, and re-do it straight.  Takes less than an hour..  you just need to work up the mental balls to tackle it.

@StrangerDanger can assist you if you do not want to undertake it.

Well I am an armorer on a few firearms platforms. I’ve also performed various gunsmithing tasks on a variety of other platforms absent of “certification”. Tackling it myself, even though warrantied, was at the forefront from the beginning, just to eliminate shipping hassles n possibly of a lost package.

    Appreciate the information and encouragement!

  10. FML. I was worried reading all the QC issues, post purchase February 2022. Not the Benelli company I’m used to. States they’ve a 10-year warranty. Any reason not to make the company honor their mistake?

I’ve got to fit the limb saver pad n sight it in this weekend and check for function. Won’t be able to send it off to anyone until after September 12. I need it for Firearms Instructor Recertification.

Appreciate the feedback greatly though. Even though it confirmed my gut feelings on the matter. $2500 after tax stamp and trust, just to need warranty work out the gate. Already felt like an idiot buying my dream shotgun. This seals it. Should’ve kept my M1’s….

  11. My form 4 cleared and I picked up my Benelli M4 SBS three days ago. Finish is dark black (not blue) and my barrel is flush cut. Aesthetically it is all I hoped for. But I noticed that my C stock cants to the right. My deal advised that this is normal to accommodate right handed shooters. It feels fine.

Is this normal amongst other C-stock’rz?

  12. Picked up my M4 SBS from dealer three days ago and they had that very shotgun. I hate the rail. I guess I didn’t notice the charging handle. The new style stock is much easier to actuate then my collapsible stock, but it is ugly IMO, except for the photograph I dropped of the M3 SBS that has one.
