  1. Without being too much of a thread pig, I'd probably use this, maybe with a can on the end: Before I used a shotgun. Good Lord, you'd be deafer than a post if you touched off a shotgun round in the house. I get it, better than being dead, but a shotgun in *your* house at 2a? No thanks. Different story if I was clearing a house that wasn't mine and for sure had bad guys inside it. Then maybe I'd use something like this:
  2. Sure, rotties are great. The one above? She’s long crossed over the rainbow bridge, yet absolutely shredded the arm of home invader. Long story, yet it looked like somebody had tossed a bucket of blood in the front room. And zero uncomfortable questions about why I shot the guy - even though I would have been perfectly within my rights to do so. Short version is a crackhead pried open a door at 2am and got into the house when I lived in downtown Milwaukee. Probably 20+ years ago. Fairly liberal city, worse now then it was then, but I still would have been in for a ride through the criminal justice system has I put a few holes in him.
  3. Nope, LE version that came with the 7-rd tube. Ironically, I removed the +2 and Form 1d it with a 14” barrel. Runs like a top. Just needed some breaking in, I’d guess.
  4. Quick update.- a little bit of lube on the bolt and a few hundred rounds through the tube and it’s working like a charm.
  5. I bought a MagPul MS3 with a front QD and just plain strap on the back and put it on a 11723. It’s amazing. I removed the crappy female QD that came with the gun and added the three rails on the new forearm and put a female QD on the left rail piece. And then I just threaded the strap around the base of the new collapsible stock. I’m a right handed shooter and put my left arm through the sling and have it rest on my right shoulder. A simple adjustment allows me to carry the M4 (in entry configuration) across my chest in a port arms type style with the muzzle facing down. I can quickly and easily bring the M4 to firing position - and if I’ve set the tension on the sling just right, I can rest the sling on my left arm to increase stability of the shooting position. This worked so well when I was at the range today I stopped at a LGS and picked up two more of them for other guns.
  6. lol, timing is everything. Speaking of timing, pretty fast eForm 1…
  7. First line of defense…
  8. Was on the notification to get an email from MidwestGunWorks.com if they received any 14" barrels. I got this message in my inbox today at 2:13p and clicked on the link the moment the email arrived. Yep, already gone. lol.
  9. I put a very light coat of oil on the bolt and nothing on the spring. I did remove the spring (by taking off the +2), but reassembled the spring and the +2. I’m very confident I didn’t kink the spring or anything like that.
  10. Small point of clarification - the FTF was with all types of ammo - birdshot, 00, and slugs.
  11. A’yep, got the 14” barrel within a few days of ordering. Brand new, excellent condition. Packed well and very prompt shipper.
  12. Not normal. I have two M4s - one is probably close to 20 years old. The other I picked up the other day. Both have rock solid grips. The old one is fixed stock/pistol grip and the new one is a 11732. Sounds like a relatively easy fix. https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/Benelli-M4-Pistol-Grip-Wobble/1-497707/
  13. Have a new 11723 and took it out today for the first time. Went through a few boxes of birdshot, 8-10 rounds of 00, and a couple of slugs. All shot at 50 yds and was generally pleased. I get that birdshot (#8, I think) isn’t a great round for the purpose of this gun, yet I consistently had a failure to feed from the last round in the tube mag. Didn’t matter if I started with 3, 5, or 7 rounds in the tube. The last round would hang up in the tube. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot? thx.
  14. Meh, haven't got it yet, but ordered a barrel from these guys the other day. Already got email with a tracking number. So... we'll see in a few days whether I get it.
